Publication number: 20210339314Abstract: Processes produce a compound material structure by producing a composite material which extends along an axis of elongation from carbon nanostructures anchored in a matrix of a first metal extending along the axis of elongation of the composite material. The processes comprise dividing the composite material into segments of the composite material, arranging the segments in a plane of a die matrix, filling free spaces in the die matrix with a filler material and subsequently sintering in the die matrix to form a compound material structure or squeeze casting in the die matrix, and exposing the carbon nanostructures of the composite material on at least one surface of the compound material structure such that the carbon nanostructures protrude out of this surface. Compound material structures and uses thereof as a heat conductor and/or a heat exchanger are also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 1, 2019Publication date: November 4, 2021Applicant: TECHNISCHE UNIVERSITÄT BERLINInventors: Jens RIESSELMANN, Thomas HUTSCH, Thomas WEISSGÄRBER

Publication number: 20210197307Abstract: A method is provided for smoothing a surface region of a component consisting of an electrically conductive material. The surface region of the component is coated inside a vacuum chamber, by focused electron beam(s) with a first surface energy, which brings about melting of the component material within the surface region. Before melting, the surface region is passed over at least twice by the electron beam, each time with a different focal length of the electron beam. A second surface energy is set for the electron beam, such that no melting of the component material is brought about in the surface region. Data is recorded by a number of sensors arranged inside the vacuum chamber. An actual value for the roughness is compared to a set point value. If the actual value has not reached the set point value, a value for the first surface energy is determined via comparison.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2019Publication date: July 1, 2021Applicant: Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung E.V.Inventors: Benjamin Graffel, Falk Winckler, Sven Fritzche, Bernd Kieback, Burghardt Klöden, Thomas Weissgärber

Publication number: 20070056936Abstract: The invention relates to nozzles for plasma torches, which are essentially formed from a metal or a metal alloy. Particularly during the operation of such plasma torches for cutting processes using oxygen, an increase in wear occurs on the nozzles, which have to be exchanged with corresponding frequency. It is, therefore, the object of the invention to increase the life of such nozzles. According to the invention, this object is achieved in that wear-resistant microparticles of a hard material, preferably a hard ceramic material, are embedded in the metal or the metal alloy, at least in certain regions. The nozzles can be advantageously manufactured by extrusion.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 21, 2004Publication date: March 15, 2007Inventors: Volker Krink, Frank Laurisch, Gerd Lotze, Thomas Weissgaerber, Kerstin Kuemmel, Wolfram Moehler
