  • Patent number: 11971420
Abstract: A method of operating a laboratory sample distribution system is presented. The system comprises container carriers, a transport plane, and drive elements. The container carriers carry sample containers. The transport plane supports the container carriers. The drive elements move the container carriers on the transport plane. The method comprises planning a movement path for a container carrier from a start to a goal on the transport plane modelled by nodes. The nodes are free for one time-window or reserved for one-time window. The planning comprises analyzing the reachability out of a free time-window of one node to free time-windows of a next node and an over-next node such that planned movement of the container carrier is nonstop. The method comprises reserving the planned movement path comprising a sequence of time-windows of nodes and moving the container carrier along the reserved movement path on the transport plane by a drive element.

  • Patent number: 9437955
Abstract: A connector for electrical supply of a unit of the hydraulics which can be arranged or is arranged at a casing of such unit. Thereby at least one current path penetrates a connector bottom of the connector and the connector bottom is sealed with a silicone-containing compound against penetrating moisture in an area of this passage. The compound is an adhesive having high adhesive forces. A casing of a unit of the hydraulics can include such connector. A method of sealing a connector bottom of a connector penetrated by a current path is disclosed via which connector a unit of the hydraulics is adapted to be electrically supplied, the method includes a step of sealing a passage of the current path through the connector bottom with silicone-containing adhesive.

  • Patent number: 7263976
Abstract: A method is proposed for controlling an internal combustion engine having a crankshaft, in which from the angular pulses of a sensor a pulse time is formed that is a measure for the rotation of the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine per time unit. At a predetermined target angle of the crankshaft, an ignition of a spark plug and an injection of fuel are to take place. A charging of an ignition coil before the ignition and the injection each require a predetermined time duration. The charging of the ignition coil and the injection are each started before the target angle at a start time dependent on the crankshaft, the start times being calculated by taking into account the time duration of the charging and of the portion of the injection before the target angle, and the pulse time, and the pulse counter. The same pulse time is used for the calculation of the start times of the charging of the ignition coil and of the injection.

  • Patent number: 7082363
Abstract: In a method for determining the rotational speed of the crankshaft of an internal combustion engine having a sensor disk which is connected to a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine, the sensor disk having a marking via a system of alternating teeth and tooth spaces, and a first sensor assigned to the sensor disk generating an electrical signal which is able to assume at least two signal levels, one of the signal levels being assigned to a tooth and the other being assigned to a tooth space, the accuracy of the rotational speed determination is increased in that the rotational speed of the crankshaft is determined by the control unit from the angle between two markings divided by the time elapsed between the two markings; additional markings may be situated between the two markings and the number of markings which are situated between the two markings is a function of the rotational speed.

  • Patent number: 7066824
Abstract: The golf practice apparatus has a large target supported by two supports connected at diametrically opposed areas on the large target. For stability, the two supports are connected to one another by a cross member and ground stakes engaging the supports can be inserted into the ground. Successively smaller targets are connected to the larger target. The smaller targets are connected to the large target by a pair of straps. Each pair of straps consists of two sections. The straps are sewn to the middle sized target and have two ends extending radially in each direction from the large target. The straps are wrapped around and secured to both the large target and smaller target. Once wrapped around the respective target, the strap is secured to itself by such conventional means as snaps. In this manner, the smaller target can be removed from the middle target and the middle target can be removed from the larger target.

  • Patent number: 7051703
Abstract: In a method for operating an internal combustion engine, the fuel is supplied via at least one injection valve. The injection fuel quantity is influenced by the injection duration. In order that the internal combustion engine be operated optimally with respect to emission and comfort, it is suggested that it is predicted whether a requested injection duration of the injection valve become greater that a maximum possible injection duration. If the prediction yields that a case is imminent, at least a quantity, which is decisive for the combustion, is on influence that the torque (M) is gently reduce.

  • Patent number: 6951197
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating an internal combustion engine, especially for motor vehicles, the engine having a catalytic converter; in the method, for heating up the catalytic converter, there is a switchover between a homogeneous operating mode with a one-time injection of fuel into a combustion chamber of the engine and an operating mode with subdivided injection of fuel at at least two injection time points into the combustion chamber of the engine; wherein, for subdivided injections, both injection time points lie ahead of an ignition of an air/fuel mixture, the first injection time point essentially corresponds to the injection time point of the homogeneous operating mode during the switchover operation from the homogeneous operating mode to the operating mode with subdivided injection, and the second injection time point of the subdivided injection takes place at first so early that the mixture arising during operation with subdivided injection corresponds approximately to a homogeneo

  • Patent number: 6892773
Abstract: A carrier for a golf bag completely encloses the golf bag and has a bottom section, a middle section and a top section. The bottom section is formed in part by a rigid plastic plate that supports two wheels. The wheels allow easy transportation of the carrier. The middle section of the bag supports pockets for carrying golf accessories such as shoes, balls and tees. The top section is padded and has at least one set of cords. Each cord is separated into two pieces. Each piece has an end secured to the interior of the bag and extends through a grommet to the exterior of the bag. The two cords can be pulled together and releasably connected. When the cords are pulled together and connected, the effective diameter and interior volume of the bag are reduced. This reduces the room for the clubs to move and cause damage to each other by impact.

  • Patent number: 6877487
Abstract: An internal combustion engine (10) is operated by a method wherein the fuel is supplied via a magnetic valve (28) having a coil (34). The injected fuel quantity is influenced by the duration of the drive of the magnetic valve (28). In the method, the temperature (evtmod) of a region (26) of the magnetic valve (28) is determined and the drive duration is corrected in dependence upon temperature. In order to make the correction still more precise, a temperature (evtmod) of the magnetic valve (28) is determined from at least one usually measured temperature (tans, tmot) and the drive duration (ti_tvu_w) is so corrected (tvsp_w) that the temperature dependency of the characteristics of the magnetic coil (34) of the magnetic valve (28) is considered. Furthermore, a model is suggested in which (starting from an operating temperature) the temperature trace is simulated after shut-off of the engine and/or for the restart of the engine by means of two factors for the warmup and cool down.
