  • Publication number: 20060025064
Abstract: One embodiment of the invention relates to a modular cabin pressure regulator that can receive its destination parameter and control settings from an avionics system or a manual selector and display. The modular pressure regulator includes a removable selector, a controller, and a monitoring unit to control an electromechanical actuator driven valve. Such modular design allows a single unit to be used for the cabin pressure selector and display, controller, and monitoring functions. In one embodiment of the invention, the selector module can be bypassed or removed and the same pressure regulator design can provide the controller and monitoring functions to send and receive inputs from an avionics system. This embodiment can be mounted directly on the electromechanical actuator driven valve or elsewhere on the aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20060019594
Abstract: A cabin pressure control system and method includes one or more dual-channel controllers. One of the channels is a primary channel and the other channel is a secondary channel. The primary channel includes two dissimilar cabin pressure sensors and a controller that is used to modulate the position of an outflow valve, to thereby control cabin pressure, in response to the sensed cabin pressures. The secondary channel includes a cabin pressure sensor and a differential pressure sensor that is configured to sense cabin-to-atmosphere differential pressure. The secondary channel, based the sensed differential pressure, will implement differential pressure limiting in the event the primary channel does not. The primary and secondary channels both implement a cabin altitude limit function.

  • Publication number: 20050227605
Abstract: An aircraft pneumatic cabin pressure control system that is adapted to prevent the difference between cabin pressure and atmospheric pressure from exceeding a threshold value wherein the threshold value varies in relation to aircraft altitude. In some instances the control system includes at least one outflow valve adapted to prevent the difference between cabin pressure and atmospheric pressure from exceeding a threshold value, and the control system is adapted to override the outflow valve at predetermined altitudes. The control system may implement a method for controlling the cabin pressure of an aircraft using a pneumatic cabin pressure control system that includes an outflow valve comprising at least two pressure input ports, the method comprising coupling an isolation valve to an input port of the outflow control valve and utilizing the interrupt valve to isolate the outflow valve input port to which the isolation valve is coupled from pressure changes.

  • Publication number: 20030113703
Abstract: A systematic training method for use with the ADD child. The method begins with the instructor explaining the meaning of focusing one's attention to the child. The child is required to remain immobile for a suitable period. Next, the child is conditioned to maintain eye contact with the instructor for a sustained period. Once these objectives have been met, a series of tasks are given to the child focusing on the child's ability to: (1) follow oral commands to carry out physical actions; (2) recall an oral series of 3 or 4 numbers, letters, or words; (3) recall an oral series of 4 or 5 numbers, letters, or words; (4) recall a written series of 3 or 4 numbers, letters, or words; (5) recall a written series of 4 or 5 numbers, letters, or words; and (6) recall a written series of 5 numbers, letters, or symbols using color variations for each.
