  • Publication number: 20230398397
Abstract: The connected exercise device includes a main body member that receives resistance bands attached thereto where the main body member is flexed during such use. The main body member includes a preferably tubular configuration for slidably receiving a force sensing member that is interconnected to the main body member. At least one strain gauge attached to the force sensing member, which provides a live real time output signal associated with the force sensed by the at least one strain gauge due to the flexing of the main body member. Electronic circuitry is configured and arranged for wirelessly transmitting the output signal to an external computing device for use by the user for enhanced understanding of use of the connected exercise device.

  • Patent number: 7073506
Abstract: A one piece tongue stabilizing device formed of a resiliently flexible material and comprises a body having a hollow interior within which the end of a user's tongue fits and is held by negative pressure. The body of the device comprises an entry portion having an opening to the hollow interior of the device and a bulb portion connected by a narrower diameter neck portion. Tabs extend from the bulb portion which in use engage the exterior of the user's face around the user's mouth or between the user's teeth and lips, to hold the tongue forward to assist in opening user's airway and reducing snoring. A major benefit of the device of the invention is that it does not require specialist fitting or the taking of upper and lower jaw impressions of the patient to produce a tailored device for the patient.

  • Patent number: 4572710
Abstract: A remote control apparatus for removing from one of a number of filter pits, and loading for protective storage in a disposal drum, radioactive filters used in nuclear power generating stations, and for replacing spent filters. The apparatus includes a transportable base adapted to be placed adjacent the respective filter pit and a hoist mechanism mounted on the base. The hoist mechanism includes a vertical tower or mast mounted on the base, a generally horizontal boom mounted on and extending outwardly from the top of the mast, a grab mechanism for engaging various specially adapted articles, including spent filters to be removed and new filters for replacement, means for operating the grab mechanism from a remote location, a lift mechanism for supporting the grab mechanism from the outer end of the boom and for raising and lowering it in a vertical path, and means for operating the lift mechanism from the remote location.
