Abstract: A system is disclosed for holding online contests on a membership web site. The contests are used to challenge members to design advertising material for Sponsor companies, which is posted online for viewing by the public and voting by registered Members and Judges. The contest process generates advertising revenue and a portion of this revenue is distributed to contestants in the form of cash proceeds or non-cash prizes based on the number of votes received. The registration process is used to ensure an accurate vote count and fair distribution of proceeds. The invention uniquely allows skilled and non-skilled people to use their social networking connections, natural talents, and common tools to participate in advertising campaigns and generate extra income.
