  • Publication number: 20030173231
Abstract: The invention relates to a combination electrode for the restoration of corrosion-damaged reinforced concrete and a method for controlling the same. The combination electrode according to the invention comprises a dimensionally stable electrode (1); a prefabricated, reusable electrolyte reservoir (2); a means for protecting against evaporation (3); a prefabricated, exchangeable, anionic ion exchanger element (4); a central fastener with anchor, anchor rod, and eccentric quick-clamping device (5); a reference electrode (6) on the anchor head; a wetting device (7); a power-switching device for anodic regulation (8); a measuring system for determining the condition on the ion exchanger element (9); as well as electrical connections for the reference cell. The dimensionally stable electrode (1), the means for protecting against evaporation (3), the electrolyte reservoir (2), and the ion exchanger element (4) are thereby connectable to each other in the form of a sandwich construction.

  • Patent number: 6619844
Abstract: In a linear rolling bearing, a plurality of ball circuits are arranged behind one another in peripheral direction around a guide rail. At least one ball circuit comprising a load-bearing section, a returning section and two deflecting sections which connect these load-bearing and returning sections to each other are retained in a segmental cage housing. This is formed by an inner cage part (11) and an outer cage part (12) and comprises a load-bearing raceway element (9) that is fitted into a through-aperture of the outer cage part (12). The balls (8) of the load-bearing section are supported on one side on a raceway of the load-bearing raceway element (9) and project through a slot (14) of the inner cage part (11) to be supported on another side on the guide rail for rolling in the longitudinal direction thereof. According to the invention, each segmental cage housing can be separately inserted and removed in radial direction from a recess of a cage bushing (1) surrounding the guide rail.

  • Publication number: 20020160820
Abstract: A communications system such as a local area data network is equipped with a plurality of access points each capable of emulating either a phone mated with a wireless headset, the wireless headset, or both and establishing a link between access points emulating the phone and the headset. When the phone is within range of an access point and the wireless headset moves out of range with the phone but within range of an access point, the access point within range of the phone emulates the headset, the access point within range of the headset emulates the phone, and a communications path is established (if necessary) between the access points. In this manner, the effective range of the headset with respect to the associated phone is extended beyond a distance limit for a wireless communications protocol, such as Bluetooth, employed for the headset and phone.

  • Publication number: 20020086664
Abstract: Apparatus, and an associated method, for a radio communication system, such as a cellular communication system which provides also for packet data communications. Packet-formatted data, such as a web page or other display retrievable from a packet data network device is displayable at a mobile station concurrent with operation of the mobile station to effectuate another communication session, such as a voice call. The packet data is accessed and retrieved automatically upon initiation of a communication session, such as a voice call, initiated with a correspondent node.

  • Patent number: 6281274
Abstract: A composition for preventing or retarding the formation of gas hydrates during the transport of a fluid comprising water and a hydrocarbon through a conduit. The composition is a copolymer of vinyl caprolactam and vinyl pyridine, and terpolymers thereof, with vinyl pyrrolidone, preferably including 70-97% by weight vinyl caprolactam. Suitably such polymers have a molecular weight in the range of 500 to 2500, and are made in a polymerization solvent, preferably a glycol ether, most preferably, 2-butoxyethanol; and also including a carrier solvent, preferably monoethylene glycol.

  • Patent number: 6242518
Abstract: A composition for preventing or retarding the formation of gas hydrates during the transport of a fluid comprising water and a hydrocarbon through a conduit. The composition is a homopolymer of vinyl caprolactam, or copolymers thereof, having a low molecular weight in the range of 500 to 4000, which is made by polymerization of the monomer or monomers in a polymerization solvent which is a mixture of a glycol ether and water, preferably 2-butoxyethanol and water, at a pH of about 8-12.

  • Patent number: 5988884
Abstract: A guide rail arrangement for connecting two relatively displaceable components comprising a lower rail (1) and an upper rail (2) supported thereon by rolling elements (3), said lower and upper rails being configured as rectilinear sheet metal profiles, one of the lower and upper rails partially surrounding the other of the lower and upper rails, whereby hollow spaces are formed for receiving the rolling elements (3) and further slide elements (4) arranged between the rails is characterized in that, in a central region of the arrangement, the two rails (1, 2) define a receiving space (5) for a spring and/or damping element, which receiving space (5) is adjoined by regions comprising the rolling elements and the slide elements (4) and extending in end regions of the rails (1, 2) which results in the creation of an arrangement with uniform load distribution on its components so that a deformation of the components and a pressing-in of the rolling elements is reliably prevented.
