  • Patent number: 8393458
Abstract: A guide arrangement for guiding moving containers, includes at least one guide element which extends in a predefined extension direction at least in some sections along the transport path of the containers, and at least one holding device which holds the guide element at a predetermined position relative to the transport path. The holding device has a clamp element which clamps the guide element, wherein the clamp element bears against the guide element in a direction perpendicular to the extension direction, and the guide element has in its cross-section two holding sections and a wall section which is formed between these holding sections and in one piece with these holding sections, wherein these holding sections are curved at least by 90° and an outer circumference of the holding sections is in contact with the clamp element at least in some sections, and the guide element has a recess which is formed by the wall section and the hold sections and by which a further guide device can be held.

  • Patent number: 5910068
Abstract: In an automatically shiftable countershaft transmission, particularly for motor vehicles, the shift travels between the engagement points are established and the shift force may be varied as a function of gear step and dynamic load over the engagement travel. Depending on the functional phase, a lower force is provided during the synchronization phase, a higher force is provided during the shift-through phase and a lower force is provided during the dog-in phase.

  • Patent number: 5761961
Abstract: A countershaft transmission is provided for a motor vehicle having a prime mover. The transmission comprises a first input shaft carrying a first input gear, a second input shaft coaxial with the first input shaft carrying a second input gear, and a countershaft carrying a plurality of loose gearwheels, each of the loose gearwheels in meshing engagement with one of the input gears, respectively. A fixed gearwheel is carried by the countershaft in meshing engagement with the gearwheel on the first input shaft. A synchronizing clutch is carried by the countershaft for driving engaging one of the loose gearwheels carried by the countershaft to select a gear ratio. A first clutch is driven by the prime mover. The first clutch is releasably drivably connectable to the first transmission input shaft and the second transmission input shaft. A second clutch is interposed between the first clutch and the second input shaft for drivably connecting the first clutch and the second input shaft.

  • Patent number: 5680048
Abstract: A device detects metallic and non-metallic objects on, flush with, or covered by the ground or other surfaces, or by interfering or obscuring structures or surfaces, using ground penetrating radar, a metal detector and a radiometer. It is specifically designed for detection of non-metallic mines. The coils of the metal detector are mounted in a multi-sensor module with the radar antenna in a co-boresighted and/or co-located arrangement, without degrading the performance of the metal detector or the ground penetrating radar. Preferably, the ground penetrating radar uses a feed and a collimation lens, (such as a Luneberg or Step Dielectric lens), as an antenna to reduce the change in the loss of signal strength due to changes in distance between the surface and the antenna, (for short distances). The collimated beam has approximately constant power for distances closer than twice the diameter of the lens.

  • Patent number: 5634392
Abstract: In a pressure medium operable cylinder/piston unit for the provision of at least one rotary movement, comprising a cylinder bore (8) having inside it a radially internally projecting partition wall (4) and a vane piston (5) which projects radially outwardly from a piston rod (3) extending through the cylinder housing (2) and forms two alternately pressurisable radial pressure chambers (26 and 27), the radial partition wall (4) and the radial vane piston (5) are arranged on the piston rod (3) adjacent an axial piston (6) which, together with the cylinder bore (8), forms outer pressure chamber (14), and the radial partition wall (4) is arranged in the cylinder (2) so that, by way of a projection (18), it is secured against rotation.
