Abstract: Systems and methods for designing and implementing dynamic and template-based web page content are described herein. One example includes a presentation layer software development kit providing a full-featured graphical user interface for the design of web page components and structures. The presentation layer software development kit may integrate with various design, development, compilation, and testing tools to generate production-ready web page output in a scalable architecture. Using the presentation layer software development kit, modifications to the web page content may be generated, tested, and deployed in a real-time basis, reducing design and implementation times.

Abstract: A terahertz detection device comprises at least one terahertz antenna, a detection microbridge suspended above a substrate comprising a resistive load coupled to the antenna and a resistive bolometric clement coupled to the resistive load, a bias circuit for biasing the bolometric element. The device further comprises a skimming microbridge suspended above the substrate, comprising a resistive bolometric element, and substantially identical to the detection microbridge, a reflective metal layer opposite to the skimming microbridge to obtain a destructive interference at the level of the skimming microbridge for a terahertz wavelength, a bias circuit to electrically bias the bolometric element of the skimming microbridge and a read circuit for measuring a difference between the electric signals of the microbridges.

Abstract: A manifold assembly for a ventilator is disclosed. The manifold assembly has an oxygen inlet connector and compressed air inlet connector mounted on the front face of the manifold. A compressed air filter and an oxygen filter are mounted on the bottom side of the manifold. Two regulator mounts are integrated into the manifold and an oxygen regulator and a compressed air regulator are mounted into the two regulator mounts.

Abstract: An integrated regulator mount for a ventilator is disclosed. The ventilator has the regulator mount built into a manifold. The regulator mount is formed into the manifold on two opposite faces. One face is configured to mount the valve seat for the regulator. The valve spring assembly is held against the valve seat by a valve spring retaining plug mounted in the manifold. The regulator case and diaphragm assembly mount on the opposite face of the manifold.

Abstract: A pneumatic shuttle valve for a ventilator is disclosed. The pneumatic shuttle valve selectively connects one of two inlet openings to an outlet opening. The shuttle valve has a plug that is forced by gas pressure entering the second inlet opening, to move to and seal against a first sealing surface, thereby forming a passageway between the second inlet opening and the outlet opening. The plug is forced by gas entering the first inlet opening, to move to and seal against a second sealing surface, thereby forming a passageway between the first inlet opening and the outlet opening.

Abstract: Methods for fragmenting and labeling DNA in a single reaction volume and incubation step using a uracil DNA glycosylase, an apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease, and a terminal transferase are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment the UDG, AP and TdT activities are first mixed together to form an enzyme mixture and then the enzyme mixture is mixed with the uracil containing DNA. The fragmentation and labeling reactions thus take place simultaneously as part of the same reaction. The methods may be used in a variety of applications where fragmenting and end-labeling single or double stranded DNA is desired.

Abstract: Methods for using an apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease, capable of cleaving both single- and double-stranded cDNA, for fragmentation and labeling of single stranded or double stranded DNA molecules are provided. Amplification methods that generate single-stranded amplified cDNA are also disclosed. In the subject methods AP sites in a population of nucleic acids are cleaved by an AP endonuclease that is active on both double and single stranded DNA. Fragments may be end labeled. In preferred embodiments APE 1 is used. The methods may be used in a variety of applications where end-labeling single or double stranded DNA is desired.

Abstract: A technique for controlling a switching circuit, such as a relay, includes one or more sensing circuits that generate signals based upon the presence of an actuating object and upon a randomly applied strobe signal. The generated signals are sampled and are used as a basis for determining the state of an output signal. The sensing circuit may generate the signals based upon capacitive coupling with the actuating object. The randomization of the sampling provides enhanced immunity to periodic or cyclic noise. Where more than one sensing circuit is included, the output of the circuits may be considered together for determining the state of the output signal, such as based upon predetermined ranges of signal levels. Signals of the sensing circuit may be sampled in the absence of the strobe to provide an indication of the relative noise level. If the noise level is determined to be elevated, the output signal may not change states.
