  • Patent number: 9677752
Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED) lighting system including a first heat dissipation structure having a front side acting as a contact area to at least one LED and a back side. At least one second heat dissipation structure is positioned adjacent to the backside of the first heat dissipation structure. At least one thermoelectric module is positioned between the first heat dissipation structure. At least one second heat dissipation structure for conducting heat is produced from the at least one LED during operation from the first heat dissipation structure towards the at least one second heat dissipation structure. The front side of the first heat dissipation structure comprises at least one upwardly protruding structure extending distally away from the at least one second heat dissipation structure and the at least one upwardly protruding structure acts as the contact point to the at least one LED.

  • Patent number: 7510303
Abstract: The present invention relates to Light Emitting Diode (LED) based lamps utilising thermoelectric modules improving the efficiency of the lamps. The present invention provides in a first aspect a light illuminating device that comprises at least one light emitting diode (LED), at least one thermoelectric module (TEM) having a first surface which is thermally connected to the LED, a heat sink thermally connected to a second surface of the at least one TEM, a thermally insulating cover creating a chamber substantially insulating the LED from ambient air. The LED may be of any conventional type, the invention however is particularly useful for devices using hi-flux LEDs, including traffic lights, illuminated roadway and/or emergency signs, airport runway lights and such.

  • Patent number: 6935622
Abstract: The present invention provides cantilevered structural support systems subjected principally to lateral-load conditions, such as guard rail systems, which are made of solid materials and which are designed to remove drifting snow from the road surface. The present invention identifies the design lateral-load plus vertical design loads imposed via installation activities plus design torsional load requirements plus design required soil-matrix resistance development then matches the structural requirements by way of either material mass and/or shape. The post and block section of the rail are combined into one curved object and divided into two or more branches, connecting the post/block object to the rail. The branch' median curve is above the highest point on the rail's surface. The sectional shape of the rail is elliptical and the axes are declined towards the surface of the road.
