  • Patent number: 8123019
Abstract: This invention provides an improvement relating to an extendable and retractable auxiliary axle suitable for supporting an end section of a telescopic conveyor system having rotatable wheel assemblies. The improvement provides for an axle assembly for a conveyor system where the axle is a transversely extending axle positioned forwardly of the rotatable wheel assemblies on the conveyor system. There is provided an axle frame operatively associated with the axle for mounting the axle relative to the conveyor system. Actuatable systems mounted on the frame are provided for displacing the axle between a first raised position and a second lowered position; also provided are a device for actuating the actuatable system to permit the actuatable system to raise and lower the auxiliary axle as desired.

  • Publication number: 20110152021
Abstract: Disclosed is a release mechanism suitable for releasing and disengaging a chain drive means associated with a drive mechanism for a movable extendable frame assembly. In the arrangement, the drive mechanism includes a drive, a wheel assembly and a drive chain associated with the drive to drive wheels associated with the frame assembly. The mechanism also includes a quick release for permitting the chain drive to be released and disengaged from driving the wheels. The quick release has a movable support mounting the drive, and in which the support is movable about a fixed point to raise and lower the drive from a lower chain tensioned position to an upper chain release position.

  • Patent number: 6056252
Abstract: A support assembly for supporting an extendable frame that is telescopically mounted on a base frame. The support assembly includes a number of support rollers for supporting the extendable frame. The support rollers are supported by lever devices such that the load applied by the extendable frame on the support rollers is proportionately distributed over all of the support rollers. The lever device includes a pivot plate device pivotally mounted to the base frame to pivot about a primary pivot axis. At least two support rollers are connected to the pivot plate to rotate about rotational axes located on opposite sides of the primary pivot axis. Also provided is a telescopic conveyor system having such a support assembly.
