  • Patent number: 7115792
Abstract: The present invention is a scar-reducing plaster and a method for preparing scar-reducing plasters. The scar-reducing plasters comprise a backing film comprising an air- and water vapor-pervious and water-impervious polymer layer, and a breathable and adhesive polyurethane xerogel matrix layer that coats the backing film. The polyurethane xerogel matrix layer includes a central scar contact region and an edge region, wherein the scar contact region merges with the edge region and the thickness of the edge region decreases from the scar contact region to a thickness of from 5 to 150 ?m at the edge of the polyurethane xerogel matrix layer. The scar-reducing plasters of the present invention have a reduced tendency to peel off during normal use.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 22, 2004
Date of Patent: October 3, 2006
    Assignee: Beiersdorf AG
Inventors: Holger Kartheus, Carsten Hartkopf, Thorsten Berg, Jan Jänichen, Ulrich Köhler
  • Publication number: 20060182787
Abstract: A skin or wound contact material which comprises a polycondensate matrix and a water-absorbing polymer incorporated therein. The water-absorbing polymer is doped with a wound healing promoter substance and/or a skin care substance.
    Type: Application
    Filed: January 6, 2006
    Publication date: August 17, 2006
    Applicant: Beiersdorf AG
Inventors: Jan Jaenichen, Guenther Sachau, Carsten Hartkopf, Thorsten Berg
  • Publication number: 20060062831
Abstract: An antimicrobial polymeric composite for use in wound management products. The composite comprises a polymeric material which is suitable for prolonged direct contact with a wound. At least a part of the polymeric material is associated with a glass which comprises an antimicrobial element M, preferably silver. This abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 9, 2003
