    Abstract: An apparatus for controlling an automatic unlocking and/or locking of a vehicle is described, which is automatically effected by a key device located in an environment of the vehicle. The apparatus is configured to detect at least one superfluous unlocking and locking cycle, in which the vehicle is automatically unlocked due to the entry of the key device into a predefined spatial area around the vehicle, and is automatically locked again due to a subsequent removal of the key device, without a door and/or flap of the vehicle having been opened in between. The apparatus is further configured to adapt, in particular to reduce, the spatial area for the automatic unlocking and/or locking of the vehicle in response to the detection.

The method further includes obtaining information about one or more personalized settings or services of the user for the vehicle based on the user grant information, and applying the one or more settings to the vehicle or enabling the one or more services for the user in the vehicle.
