    Abstract: A braking system for a vehicle is disclosed, the braking system configured for selectively applying pressure to and relieving pressure from at least two pressure connections for brake actuators. The braking system comprises an electro-fluidic braking module with an electrically-actuatable pressure generating unit, a master cylinder module comprising a fluidic brake master cylinderactuatable by a brake pedal, wherein the electro-fluidic braking module and the master cylinder module are coupled to the pressure connections via at least one selector valve. The braking system also has a control unit which is designed to activate the electro-fluidic braking module and the at least one selector valve for applying pressure to the pressure connections, and to activate the electro-fluidic braking module to increase a fluid pressure in the master cylinder module while the at least one selector valve is in the first switching position. A method for operating a braking system is also provided.
