  • Patent number: 12179613
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a vehicle, a method, a device and a steering system for a vehicle. In particular, the disclosure relates to a device for a vehicle with a first direct voltage source and at least one second direct voltage source, which are connected in series, for operating a consumer in the vehicle. The device comprises a potential tap which is designed to tap a potential between the first and the second direct voltage source. The device further comprises a circuit which is designed to provide the potential tapped between the first and the second direct voltage source for operating the consumer in the event of a fault in the first or second direct voltage source.

  • Publication number: 20190023096
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method to estimate dynamic loads acting vertically on a rear axle of a motor vehicle during a forward driving operation. To enable an estimation of the dynamic loads acting vertically on the rear axle during the forward driving operation of the motor vehicle cost-effectively, the dynamic loads are estimated in consideration of dynamic mechanical forces engaging vertically at a front axle of the motor vehicle during the forward driving operation. In addition, dynamic acceleration forces engaging at a spring mass of the motor vehicle during the forward driving operation are also considered when estimating the dynamic loads during the forward driving operation.

  • Patent number: 9545946
Abstract: A steering system is provided to support a straight running of a vehicle. The steering system included an active steering assistance system, a support torque section, and a correction section. The support torque section is configured to calculate a supporting torque based on a steering torque applied to a steering wheel of the vehicle. The correction section is configured to calculate a correcting torque on a basis of a progressively calculated supporting torque. The active steering assistance is configured to be controlled on the basis of a control torque based upon a superimposition of the supporting torque with the correcting torque.

  • Patent number: 9221494
Abstract: A steering system to control a directional stability of a vehicle may include an active power steering assistance system, a sensor to detect vehicle dynamics data of the vehicle, a sensor to detect a torque of a steering system of the vehicle, and a controller. The controller may be configured to determine a torque value based on the vehicle dynamics data, calculate a torque component based on a difference between the torque value and the torque of the steering system, calculate a preliminary compensation torque on a basis of the torque component, calculate a final compensation torque by adding the preliminary compensation torque and the torque value, and actuate the active power steering assistance system based upon the final compensation torque. Systems and methods for controlling directional stability of a vehicle may compensate for short-term pull/drift and long-term pull/drift.

  • Patent number: 8515621
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for detecting a steering wheel position of a motor vehicle which has an evaluation unit and a servo-assisted steering device, a position sensor being assigned to the servo-assisted steering device. After loss of an on-board power system voltage, the servo-assisted steering device conducts a steering angle value which is absolute at least in one circular segment to the evaluation unit. The evaluation unit detects an absolute steering angle position which is transmitted to the servo-assisted steering device which accepts the absolute value obtained from the evaluation unit.
