  • Patent number: 8601763
Abstract: The lightweight concrete panel is comprised of a thin concrete slab, a standard steel stud frame, optional insulation strips to increase its thermal performance for exterior wall applications, and specially engineered rivets or screws that connect the thin concrete slab to the metal frame. The specially engineered rivet has a protruding and shaped head that acts as an anchor when embedded in the hardened concrete slab and has an optional elastic cover in its embedded head to allow slight movement of the concrete slab. The engineered screw with an elastic cover can also be used as the connecting device that allows slight movement of the concrete slab.

  • Patent number: 8167996
Abstract: A lightweight structural concrete with screw-ability and nail-ability similar to wood is composed of a non-structural and ultra lightweight aggregate such as expanded perlite or a combination of expanded perlite and polystyrene beads of a particular size distribution and volume amount, entrained air cells of another specific size distribution and volume amount, and dense cementitious composition of a cement binder, a fine grade structural filler no larger than concrete sand grade, a pozzolan, and optional micro-fibers for reinforcement. This structural concrete matrix is optimized to hold 13 gauge T-nails and bugle head wood screws with thread ranging from 8 to 11 threads per inch and diameter of 0.10? to 0.137?. The resulting concrete will have consistent screw-ability and nail-ability similar to that of wood.

  • Publication number: 20110282633
Abstract: A component building system that is cost effective and flexible enough to be adapted for single story to multi-stories building structures. The component system comprises of mostly standardized open rib wall panel components and floor panel components. The basic open rib wall panel component's design is comprised of a cementitious sheathing with a narrower back supporting frame attached to it to create cavities on the side of panel for concrete to form studs when the panels are assembled and concrete is pour in cavities.

  • Publication number: 20080276559
Abstract: An insulated wall panel is provided that employs a plurality of spaced insulated members that define cavities within the body of the wall panel. The insulation panels that form the cavities may be constructed of a reinforced insulating material, such as expanded polystyrene. The insulated wall panels may include a reinforcing mesh, preferably fiberglass coated with PVC embedded within the body of the EPS foam during fabrication. The strengthened EPS foam blocks have the advantage of being lightweight and very durable, thereby reducing handling damage, for example.

  • Publication number: 20080104913
Abstract: A wall panel is provided that is comprised of a plurality of spaced foam insulative blocks. Between each block is a metal stud that spans the height of the wall panel and provides sufficient strength to counteract any compressive loads the wall panel may encounter. The presence of the insulation panels provides large surface areas for the receipt of a thin layer of cementious or gypsum based material that is adapted to receive nails and be easily cut. In addition, the decreased weight of the exterior wall allows for the omission of reinforcing internal structure within the exterior wall which is found in the prior art, thereby providing a lightweight and easy to fabricate wall.

  • Patent number: 6405187
Abstract: An apparatus and method to significantly improve performance of SQL function processing through the use of an encoded vector index (EVI). An EVI provides the data necessary to count the number of records in a database that match criteria provided by a SQL function. The resulting count can then be used to determine, from among two or more candidate approaches, an approach to use in processing an SQL function. By processing the EVI symbol table in lieu of more traditional database indexes, and/or in lieu of the database table itself, statistics for SQL functions are generated significantly faster.
