  • Patent number: 7902926
Abstract: An embodiment of a communication system is provided, in which a high frequency oscillator generates a first high frequency signal upon receipt of no disable signal. The first high frequency signal is commonly shared by at least two modules. Each module coupled to the high frequency oscillator operates in either busy or idle mode, wherein the module operates at the first high frequency signal when in busy mode, and asserts a request signal when in idle mode. A disablement unit, coupled to the first and second modules, asserts the disable signal to the high frequency oscillator when all of the request signals are asserted, thereby forcing the high frequency oscillator to cease the generation of the first high frequency signal.

  • Patent number: 7466776
Abstract: An automatic gain control method used in a wireless receiver is disclosed. The method comprise the following steps: Receiving a first frame, amplifying a RF signal corresponding to the first frame with a gain value and down converting the RF signal to generate a baseband signal. Updating the gain value according to the power level of the baseband signal corresponding to the first frame, then using the updated gain value to amplify the RF signal corresponding to a second frame when receiving the second frame. Determining whether a first signal block is in the discontinuous transmission mode or not, wherein the first frame belongs to the first signal block. And resuming the gain value according to the power level of the baseband signal corresponding to a third frame if the first signal block is in the discontinuous transmission mode.

  • Patent number: 7285712
Abstract: A method of dynamically determining a maximum polyphony number is used in an electronic device, which has S tone generators. First, an operation mode of the electronic device is detected. Next, a residual computing power of the electronic device is obtained according to the operation mode. Then, a maximum polyphony number is determined according to a constant computing power, which is required to synthesize a polyphony, and the residual computing power. Next, the states of T tone generators of the S tone generators are set to be an ON state according to the maximum polyphony number, wherein T is a positive integer and is smaller than or equal to S.

  • Publication number: 20060198371
Abstract: A method for analyzing the reliability of a flag value carried by a current block is disclosed. The method includes: determining whether the current block is a dummy block, and determining the flag value as invalid if the current block is determined as a dummy block. The step of determining the current block is a dummy block can be implemented through two methods. The first method is to utilize information (signal quality indicators) of the current block and a previous block to perform the dummy block determination. The second method is to only utilize information (including the signal quality indicators and coded USF correction indicators) of the current block to generate a determination value through substituting the information into a predetermined equation, and to perform the dummy block detection according to the determination value.

  • Publication number: 20050238045
Abstract: After a transmitter has encoded a flag value, the flag value is included in a block. A method for analyzing the reliability of the flag value outputted by the transmitter includes receiving the block; according to the received block, obtaining a coded flag value; according to the coded flag value, decoding the coded flag value to obtain a decoded flag result; determining whether or not the received block is or is not a dummy block; and if the received block is determined to be a dummy block, negating the reliability of the decoded flag result; otherwise, analyzing the reliability of the coded flag value to determine whether to affirm or negate the reliability of the decoded flag result.

  • Publication number: 20040098534
Abstract: This invention provides a method for managing digital data and the digital data allocation in a memory, which is applied to a digital recording device. The memory can repetitively write and crase and comprises a plurality of sectors in which a plurality of digital data files can be written. The least unit to crase the digital data in the memory every time is one sector. Each sector divides to a plurality of blocks, and each block is arranged a block header. The block header can record the current status of the corresponding block. The method comprises a step to set up a block reclamation starting condition. When some blocks in a target sector have to be erased, the digital data of the other blocks which need not to be erased will be moved and stored in the blocks of other sectors.
