Abstract: A theft identification and deterrence system includes a camera mountable in the dashboard of an automobile and a sensor capable of sensing entry of a person into the automobile. The system includes a microcontroller for actuating the camera to capture images of the person who has entered the vehicle and a transmitter for sending the images to a remote viewing device such as a user's mobile phone viewing screen. The microcontroller includes programming that enables the user to remotely deactivate the system if, after reviewing the transmitted image, determines the access is authorized. Or, the user may call the police if access is unauthorized and the camera continues to take and store images of the potential thief.
