Patent number: 10176488Abstract: Sensitivity to incentive changes of survey participant may be computed and analyzed. Participants and one or more attributes associated with the participants may be identified. The participants may be clustered into one or more clusters according to the one or more attributes. An incentive amount to be given to a participant in a cluster of said one or more clusters may be perturbed by performing random perturbation computation. The incentive may be distributed to the participant. One or more responses of the participant may be monitored. Individual incentive sensitivity representing incentive sensitivity of responsiveness of the participant per incentive change may be computed based on the monitoring. Incentive amount computation may be dynamically adjusted responsive to determining that the individual incentive sensitivity changed by a predefined criterion.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2014Date of Patent: January 8, 2019Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Tian-Jy Chao, Younghun Kim

Publication number: 20150178756Abstract: An incentive mechanism may comprise computing an incentive score for a participant based on one or more attributes of the participant clustered by the attributes and an individual incentive sensitivity, subject to the campaign specifics of campaign goal and the incentive resource constraints. An optimal incentive amount to distribute to the participant and frequency of distribution to the participant may be determined based on at least the incentive score, the incentive amount optimized to maximize the incentive resource (total budget) given to said participants in a cluster of participants. One or more responses from the participant may be monitored and observed as a result of distributing the incentive amount. Based on the responses, individual incentive sensitivity may be determined, which may be used to further determine an optimized incentive amount.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2013Publication date: June 25, 2015Applicant: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Tian-Jy Chao, Younghun Kim

Patent number: 8578346Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for validating and repairing flow diagrams using a process modeling validation method in conjunction with a process modeling repair method. The process modeling validation method points out structural ambiguities in a flow diagram that can make its automatic interpretation difficult. It also proposes fix to resolve such ambiguities. The method discloses a process semantic annotation scheme that can interpret process semantics in a flow graph implicit in a flow diagram. Further, the validation process compares one or more components of one or more drawings to a set of rules determined by a business process modeling standards and provides a set of semantic errors describing faulty parts of the drawing that do not comply with the business process modeling standards. The process modeling repair method corrects the drawing to ease and enable its automatic interpretation of the flow diagram and make the faulty parts of the drawing comply with the business process modeling standards.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 2010Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Tian-Jy Chao, Pankaj Dhoolia, David Marston, Debdoot Mukherjee
