  • Publication number: 20120141003
Abstract: For optimal image quality in susceptibility-weighted imaging and accurate quantification of susceptibility, it is necessary to isolate the local field generated by local magnetic sources (such as iron) from the background field that arises from imperfect shimming and variations in magnetic susceptibility of surrounding tissues (including air). We present a nonparametric background field removal method based on projection onto dipole fields in which the background field inside an ROI is decomposed into a field originating from dipoles outside the ROI using the projection theorem in Hilbert space.

  • Publication number: 20120062904
Abstract: A contact detection device includes a number of first bars and second bars. Each first bar includes a number of first sheets. Each second bar includes a number of second sheets. The first bars and the second bars intersect to form a grid with a number of nodes as a contact detection area, each node having exclusive coordinates. Each first sheet defines a light hole, and the light holes are arranged in the same column line in the grid. Opposite sides of each first sheet arranges one photosensitive member above the corresponding light hole, and position of each photosensitive member is determined according to the coordinates of the nearest node in a predetermined direction. Opposite ends of each two adjacent second bars respectively arrange one light emitter therebetween. When one point of the grid is pressed, the light emitted by the light emitter irradiates the photosensitive member.

  • Publication number: 20110303517
Abstract: A keyboard includes a plurality of keys. Each key includes a base, a key cap detachably connected to the base and includes at least two conductors, a flexible element connected between the key cap and the base, and a plurality of conduct lines mounted on the base. The conduct lines are not contacting each other. One end of each conduct line is connected to a processing unit. Each conduct line is assigned a code. If the key cap of one key is pressed, the conductors of the key contacts the conduct lines, thereby creating an electrical connection between the two conduct lines, and generating an electrical signal. The processing unit determines the function of the key according to the codes of the connected conduct lines.

  • Patent number: 7988454
Abstract: A portable electronic device includes a main body and a card connector assembly mounted inside of the main body. The card connector assembly includes a base including a protrusion and a protrusion plate, a cover, and a movable plate. The protrusion includes a plurality of contacts. The protrusion plate includes an electromagnet. The cover is rotatably connected to the base, and includes a retaining member for retaining an electronic card. The movable plate is slidably connected to the protrusion plate, and is made of magnetic material. When in use, the cover is rotated until the electronic card contacts the contacts, the electronic device controls to power for the electromagnet, the electromagnet generates a magnetic field which drives the movable plate to slide toward the protrusion along the protrusion plate until the movable plate moves below the cover to prevent the cover from rotating in one direction.

  • Publication number: 20110044524
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for magnetic source magnetic resonance imaging. The method includes collecting energy signals from an object, providing additional information of characteristics of the object, and generating the image of the object from the energy signals and from the additional information such that the image includes a representation of a quantitative estimation of the characteristics, e.g a quantitative estimation of magnetic susceptibility. The additional information may comprise predetermined characteristics of the object, a magnitude image generated from the object, or magnetic signals collected from different relative orientations between the object and the imaging system. The image is generated by an inversion operation based on the collected signals and the additional information. The inversion operation minimizes a cost function obtained by combining the data extracted from the collected signals and the additional information of the object.

  • Publication number: 20060054620
Abstract: A collapsible and reusable shipping or storage container that easily collapses to a flat stackable package with no small or loose parts. Said container can be locked with a single locking mechanism in collapsed folded position or in fully open position with items inside. Said container is collapsed for return transport to distribution center to await reloading of future contents and thereby minimizes required space and preventing waste while in transport returning to distribution facility. To fold and collapse said container, top lid slides out and is lifted diagonally and removed from container, bottom panel is released and flipped up toward front side panel, collapsible sides are folded in and removed lid is placed into designated slot within collapsed container.

  • Patent number: 6238342
Abstract: Clinical data, ultrasonic radio frequency (RF) backscatter spectral data and histological results of corresponding biopsy sites are stored in a database and are used to train a classifier suitable for real-time tissue classification and imaging. In clinical use, clinical data and ultrasonic RF backscatter data are applied as input variables to the trained classifier which assigns a likelihood of cancer (LOC) score to each pixel location in an ultrasound image. The LOC scores are then categorized by ranges, which can be established by user selected threshold values, to apply different colors or grey scale values distinguishing varying levels of suspicion (LOS) to each pixel position in real-time. This classification and display technique is especially valuable for guiding a person performing a needle biopsy of the prostate.

  • Patent number: 5510299
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a micro electro-static motor which is provided with a curved bearing structure for rotatably supporting the rotor of the micro electro-static motor in a line contact manner in order to reduce the frictional torque of the micromotor. The micro electro-static motor is also provided with four on-chip rotational speed detection devices to facilitate its rotational speed measurement and the closed-loop control of the rotational speed. The on-chip rotational speed detection devices are accomplished by forming four P-N junctions in a silicon substrate. The curved bearing structure can be accomplished by etching of a phosphosilicate glass/silicon oxide composite sacrificial layer to form a curved bearing opening due to the large difference of etch rates between the phosphosilicate glass and the silicon oxide in buffered HF and by forming a curved bearing in the curved bearing opening.
