  • Patent number: 7885497
Abstract: An exemplary thin film transistor array substrate (200) includes a transparent substrate (261), a plurality of gate lines (201) and a plurality of data lines (202) formed at the transparent substrate, the gate lines and the data lines crossing each other thereby defining a plurality of pixel regions (230). Each of the pixel regions includes a storage capacitor (220). The storage capacitor includes a first capacitor and a second capacitor aligned along a direction generally perpendicular to the transparent substrate, and the first capacitor and the second capacitor are electrically connected in parallel.

  • Publication number: 20080001879
Abstract: An exemplary method of driving a liquid crystal display device (LCD) (10). The LCD device includes pixel regions (105), and a light source (160) each including a pixel electrode. The driving method includes: dividing a frame period into at least three sub-frame periods, the light source emitting at least three different primary color rays in the at least three sub-frame periods respectively, and applying a data signal to each pixel electrode in each sub-frame period. The data signal comprises a constant high voltage and a constant low voltage. When the data signal is on high voltage, the corresponding primary color rays transmit through the corresponding pixel region at a constant transmission ratio. When the data signal is on low voltage, substantially no color rays transmit through. The duration of the corresponding primary color rays transmitting through the corresponding pixel region is controlled by a duty cycle of the data signal.

  • Publication number: 20070002209
Abstract: An exemplary liquid crystal display (200) includes a liquid crystal panel (210) having a first substrate (212), a second substrate (214), a liquid crystal layer (213) sandwiched between the first and second substrates, and a transparent conductive layer (215) disposed at an outer surface of the second substrate; a backlight module (230) disposed adjacent to an outer surface of the liquid crystal display panel; and a frame (250). The frame includes at least one connecting portion (252) electrically connecting to a peripheral edge portion of the transparent conductive layer. The frame and the transparent conductive layer cooperatively forming a substantially closed space containing the backlight module, so as to shield the liquid crystal panel form any electromagnetic interference may be generated by the backlight module including the lamps.
