  • Publication number: 20240057081
Abstract: A method receives a configuration for enabling a per transmit and receive point (TRP) default beam mode. The method receives a first scheduling downlink control information message (DCI) from a first TRP and a second scheduling DCI from a second TRP. The first DCI schedules a first downlink transmission for the UE at a first time after receiving the first DCI. A first duration between the first time and a second time when receiving the first DCI is less than a threshold. The second DCI schedules a second downlink transmission for the UE at a third time after receiving the second DCI. A second duration between the third time and a fourth time when receiving the second DCI is less than the threshold. The method communicates with the first TRP with a first default beam, and with the second TRP with a second default beam.

  • Patent number: 11903071
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for beam failure detection and related timing determinations, such as for applying a default beam after beam failure recovery response (BFRR) message. A method by a user equipment (UE) may include detecting failure of a beam associated with a first cell. The detecting can include performing beam failure detection (BFD) of a beam pair link (BPL) associated with the first cell (e.g., secondary cell (Scell)). The first cell can be in carrier aggregation (CA) with a second cell. The UE may send a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) message on a second cell (e.g., a primary cell (Pcell)). The BFRQ message can include a candidate recovery beam for the first cell. The UE can receive a BFRR message on the second cell and determine a duration from reception of the BFRR message until using a default beam for communications on the first cell.

  • Patent number: 11902802
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), configuration information for both a first set of reference signals for a first beam sweeping procedure and a second set of reference signals for a second beam sweeping procedure. The UE may receive the first set of reference signals according to the configuration information, and may transmit a channel state information (CSI) report to the base station based on the received reference signals. After transmitting the CSI report, both the base station and the UE may autonomously update a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state based on the CSI report (e.g., using a preferred transmit beam indicated in the CSI report). The base station may transmit on the preferred transmit beam, and the UE may receive on various candidate receive beams, the second set of reference signals.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for efficiently indicating transmission configuration indication (TCI) states to a user equipment (UE) for communicating with one or more transmission and reception points (TRPs). A first TRP may transmit an indication to a UE of a first TCI state for communicating with a second TRP. The first TCI state may be selected from a set of TCI states activated at the UE for communicating with the second TRP. The indication, from the first TRP, of the first TCI state, for communicating with the second TRP, may be referred to as a cross-TRP TCI indication. The UE may receive the indication of the first TCI state from the first TRP and may communicate with the second TRP according to the first TCI state.

  • Patent number: 11895596
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may perform path-loss estimation to support uplink transmit power control. The UE may perform path-loss estimations on path-loss reference signals configured by a base station. In some cases, the base station may update (e.g., activate, deactivate, or both) particular path-loss reference signals using a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE). The UE may determine which path-loss reference signal or signals to use for path-loss estimation based on one or more techniques. For example, the UE may filter path-loss measurements over a time duration or may use a single, unfiltered path-loss measurement for path-loss estimation. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may receive deactivated path-loss reference signals (e.g., for a set amount of time or for any amount of time) or may refrain from receiving deactivated path-loss reference signals.
