Abstract: A reading apparatus that performs colorimetry for an image on a sheet, includes a conveyor that conveys the sheet along a conveyance path; a first guide member that includes a reference surface arranged to face the conveyance path and to oppose the sheet and provided with an opening, and, guides the sheet; a first opposite member that urges the sheet toward the reference surface, and, brings the sheet in contact with the reference surface; a colorimetry unit that is disposed at a side opposite to the conveyance path so as to sandwich the first guide member, and, performs colorimetry for the image through the opening; and a processor that controls the conveyor and the first opposite member so as to convey the sheet in a state of being brought in contact with the reference surface, before the colorimetry unit performs colorimetry for the image.

Abstract: An image reading device includes: an image reader that reads an image formed on a medium; an adjusting member that adjusts a distance between the image reader and the medium in a reading position facing the image reader; and a hardware processor that controls the adjusting member to perform switching between a first arrangement and a second arrangement, wherein in the first arrangement, the image reader reads an image formed on a first surface of the medium, the first surface is on an image reader side, and in the second arrangement, the image reader reads an image formed on a second surface of the medium.

Abstract: Disclosed is an image reading device including: a reader that reads an image on a continuous sheet; a conveying member that conveys the continuous sheet to a reading position; a calibration member that is movable to the reading position; a hardware processor that moves the conveying member and the calibration member so as to switch an arrangement between a first arrangement in which the continuous sheet directly faces the reader and a second arrangement in which the continuous sheet is located away from the reader and the calibration member directly faces the reader; and a pressing member that is disposed at the side of the reader parallel to a reading surface and that applies tension to the continuous sheet in the first arrangement so as to position a sheet surface of the continuous sheet at the reading surface.

A storage stores a speed variation profile which shows a speed variation for conveying the sheet with the conveyor when the image is read by the image reader. A controller, based on a speed variation profile stored in the storage, controls the conveyor to cancel a variation in speed shown by the speed variation profile, controls the image reader to read a reference mark formed on a sheet by the image forming apparatus, and obtains a forming position of the reference mark.
