Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of testing voice paths in telecommunications systems where said voice paths include voice compression and decompression, and to an apparatus for achieving the same. More specifically, it relates to such a method and apparatus, where the method comprises establishing a voice path including voice compression and decompression between a first telephone and a second telephone both involved in a call between at least two telephones, generating a signal uniquely identifying the first telephone, transmitting the signal from the first telephone, and monitoring the second telephone for reception of the signal at the second telephone via the voice path established between the first and second telephones.

Abstract: The invention relates to an operational test device and a method of executing an operational test for a test system which can assume a number of operating states. A test case generator (TCG) is provided for generating a number of test cases which are sent via a test device interface (INT) to the system under test (SUT). A test state model of the test system is ascertained by a test state model generator (TSTM-G) from information on the hardware configuration of the test system (SUT), information on the possible operating states of the test system (SUT), information on the test commands necessary for bringing about changes in operating state within the test system (SUT), and from traffic values which indicate transitional probabilities ascertained in the test system's real application for the operating states. Test commands are generated on the basis of a Monte-Carlo simulation of this test state model.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a communications system including a communications apparatus (KV) and a test apparatus for testing of the communications apparatus, as well as a method for testing of a communications apparatus (KV). The communications apparatus includes a plurality of telephones (T.sub.1 to T.sub.n) and at least a transmission station (UEV) for transmitting signals. The test apparatus includes a central signal processing apparatus (ZV) with at least a programmable data processing apparatus (S) for the generation of digital test signals for testing of the telephone communications apparatus (KV) and a converter apparatus (WV) connected with the programmable data processing apparatus (S). The converter apparatus (WV) is constructed so that it converts the digital test signals of the data processing apparatus (S) under the control of telephone specific configuration data into operating signals for controlling the operation of the keypad and of the microphone of the telephone (T.sub.
