  • Patent number: 7443108
Abstract: A power system for driving a plurality of lamps includes a transformer circuit, a current balancing circuit, and a light source. The transformer circuit includes a plurality of transformers in a quantity denoted by N, and each of the transformers has a first, a second, a third, and a fourth output ends. The current balancing circuit includes a plurality of current balancing units each having two output ends. The 2Nth current balancing unit is connected to a fourth output end of the Nth transformer, and the (2N?1)th current balancing unit is connected to a first output end of the Nth transformer. The light source has a plurality of lamps each having one end connected to a respective output end of the current balancing units and another end grounded. The numbers of the current balancing units and the lamps are respectively twice and four times the quantity N of the transformers.

  • Patent number: 7365502
Abstract: A device for driving a light source (L11) including a first lamp (a1) and a second lamp (a2) includes two power supply circuits, two transformers (12, 12?), and two current balancing components (13, 13?). Each power supply circuit includes a direct current (DC) power source (10 or 10?) and a DC to alternating current (AC) converter (11 or 11?). The DC/AC converters convert DC signals received from the corresponding DC power sources to AC signals. The transformers correspondingly convert the AC signals to other AC signals. The current balancing components are respectively connected between the transformers and the lamps. The feedback circuits correspondingly feed back current flowing through the lamps to the DC/AC converters.

  • Patent number: 7319296
Abstract: A driving device for driving a plurality of lamps each including a first terminal and a second terminal, includes a power stage circuit (202), a transformer circuit (204) electrically connectable to the power stage circuit, and a current balancing circuit (206) to balance current of the lamps. The current balancing circuit includes a plurality of current balancing components each comprising two inputs and two outputs. The number of the current balancing components is defined as n, where n is an integer from 2 to n. The inputs of the first current balancing component are electrically connected to a terminal of the transformer circuit. The inputs of the nth current balancing component are electrically connected to the outputs of the (n?1)th current balancing component. The outputs of each current balancing component are respectively electrically connected to the first terminals of two of the lamps.

  • Publication number: 20070200507
Abstract: A driving device for driving a light source module (34) includes a power stage circuit (31), a transformer and resonance circuit (32), a current balancing circuit (33), a voltage sensing circuit (35) and a PWM controller (37). The power stage circuit converts a received direct current (DC) signal to an alternating current (AC) signal. The transformer and resonance circuit converts the AC signal to an appropriate signal to drive the light source module. The current balancing circuit is connected between the transformer and resonance circuit and the light source module, for balancing current flowing through the light source module. The voltage sensing circuit is connected to the transformer and resonance circuit, for sensing a voltage level of the appropriate signal provided to the light source module. The PWM controller is connected between the voltage sensing circuit and the power stage circuit, for controlling output thereof according to the sensed voltage level.
