  • Patent number: 7600298
Abstract: A hinge rotative on two mutual orthogonal axes, it is used in electronic equipment having a screen and a main body; the hinge has a fixing plate having thereon a rotation seat rotative on a vertical axis relatively to the fixing plate and has two connecting legs rotative on a horizontal axis. A nut above the rotation seat is used to screw lock to a rotation shaft, thereby twisting force on the rotation seat can be adjusted; and the connecting legs each has a resilient sleeve forming thereon a plane or forming on its lateral side a strip protruding inwards, by cooperation of the planes/strips with surfaces/recesses on shafts of the connecting legs extending into the resilient sleeves, better positioning effects are obtained; and a connecting area between the rotation shaft and the fixing plate is given with four protrusions, hence the hinge gets a stable structure.

  • Publication number: 20070199180
Abstract: A forked spring tube used for a pivot hinge on a foldable electronic product, it provides an elastic twisting force for a rotation axle. The forked spring tube has an annular slipping over portion for slipping over a shaft of the rotation axle, the slipping over portion is formed on its periphery a slit to be endued with elasticity, and the lower area of the slipping over portion has a positioning protruding sheet extending vertically downwards, the bottom of the positioning protruding sheet is formed to have a left and a right bevel portion as being forked from its middle; the two bevel portions mutually symmetrical are formed at their respective upper areas fulcrums, this will get larger fulcrum areas, and the twisting force that the spring tube can bear can be much increased; after the spring tube is assembled in a connecting portion of a fixing seat, it can be more even structurally than the prior art, and is not subjected to the problem of loosening.

  • Publication number: 20070180656
Abstract: A hinge having the function of auto-shutting, it is formed on a rotation axle thereof a pair of engaging structures being of different sizes, being composed of a pair of protrusions and a pair of detents as well as being at mutual symmetrical positions separated 180° away on contact surfaces of a positioning device including a positioning block and a positioning piece, in order that a foldable electronic product connected with the hinge is able to shut automatically when in folding. And a pair of protruding stubs and recess holes are provided at the two lateral sides of the smaller protrusion and the smaller detent of the engaging structures, in order to prevent the smaller protrusion from falling into the larger detent when the foldable electronic product is opened.

  • Patent number: 6862779
Abstract: The hinge for a piece of portable electronic equipment with a cover and a base has a keyed pivot pin, a stationary leaf, a washer, a rotating positioning element, a stationary positioning element, a biasing member, and a fastener. The washer, rotating positioning element, stationary positioning element and biasing member are sequentially mounted on the keyed pivot pin and are held in place with the fastener. The rotating positioning element has detents corresponding to and simultaneously engaging protrusions on the stationary positioning element when the hinge is closed. Because the detents and protrusions are not symmetrically oriented respectively on the rotating and stationary positioning elements, the detents will only engage the protrusions in one position, a closed position. The protrusions on the stationary positioning element press against the rotating positioning element and hold the hinge open at any desired angle.

  • Publication number: 20050039301
Abstract: A hinge assembly includes a fixing seat, a position seat having a first annular body and a second annular body opposite to the first annular body, a fixing ring securely engaged with the first annular body and having a pair of notches and a position ring having a pair of protrusions extending out to correspond to the pair of notches. A connection rod is provided to securely sandwich the fixing ring, the position ring and the multiple resilient pads between the first annular body and the second annular body so as to securely engage with a securing device. Pivotal movement of the position seat relative to the fixing seat drives the position ring to pivot such that the protrusions are alternatively received in the corresponding notches and thus the multiple resilient pads are able to provide necessary friction when the protrusions are away from the notches.

  • Patent number: 6779234
Abstract: An elastic hinge for a notebook computer has an L-like seat secured on a body of the computer, with a hole of which a section is formed as a numeral “8”. A pintle has a first part extending through a barrel, and a second part extending through the hole of the seat. The barrel has two tubular portions for the pintle extending therethrough, and a plate extending from the tubular portions and secured on a monitor of the computer. A torsional spring is provided outside the second part. When a locking member of the computer is released, under the elastic force of the torsional spring, the pintle will be rotated to automatically raise the monitor about an angle of 30° relative to the body of the computer.
