Abstract: A phosphor-enhanced light source 100 for presenting a visible pattern and a luminaire is provided. The phosphor-enhanced light source 100 comprises a light exit window 112, a light emitter 122, a luminescent layer 104. The light exit window 112 emits light into the ambient of the phosphor-enhanced light source 100. The light emitter 122 emits light 120 of a first color distribution towards the light exit window 112. The luminescent layer 104 comprises luminescent material to absorb a part of the light 120 of the first color distribution and to convert a part of the absorbed light into light 116 of a second color distribution. At least a part of the luminescent layer 104 forms at least a part of the light exit window 112. The luminescent layer 104 comprises a first area 102 and a second area 118 that is different from the first area 102. The respective areas 102, 118 form a pattern.
