Abstract: A method for supporting medical interventions using an augmented reality system is disclosed, which comprises determining, using a position marker and an electronic tracking system, positions of a set of points; calculating a geometric shape using the determined positions of the set of points; and displaying, on an optical head mounted display the calculated geometric shape in the field of view of a bearer of the display. Furthermore, a system and a position marker adapted to be used for this method are disclosed.

Abstract: A method for monitoring and maintaining the sterility of objects in an operation room (1) is proposed, comprising: •registering target objects (3) and reference objects (4); •attributing to each target object (3) a set of reference objects (4); •attributing to each target object (3) a forbidden zone (90) and/or an allowed zone (91) based on a space occupied by the reference objects (4) attributed to this target object (3); tracking the target objects (3) and the reference objects (4); •determining, using data of the tracking, if a violation has occurred, the violation comprising that at least a part of a target object (3)—has entered the forbidden zone (90) attributed to that target object (3), and/or—has left the allowed zone (91) attributed to that target object (3). Furthermore, a surveillance system for performing this method is proposed.

Abstract: An augmented reality system for displaying a medical image (in particular an image stream) and a respective method are disclosed. The augmented reality system includes an optical head mounted display, a medical imaging device, a tracking system that is adapted to measure data concerning a position and orientation of at least one object, and a processing unit. The processing unit is configured to transform an image from a coordinate system in which the image was taken to a coordinate system of the display. This transformation is performed using data measured by the tracking system, where the ARS is adapted to display the transformed image on the display in a position, orientation and scale that corresponds to the perspective of a position and orientation of the bearer of the display.
