    Abstract: A method for controlling a motor vehicle driving on a road in a current lane is described. Environmental data are determined by means of a sensor. At least one utility value functional is determined based on the environmental data, wherein the utility value functional assigns a utility value for the at least one other road user at a predefined point in time in each case for different spatial areas of the current lane and/or the at least one other lane. A two-dimensional representation of the at least one utility functional is determined. At least one probable trajectory of the at least one other road user is determined based on the two-dimensional representation of the utility value functional by applying pattern recognition to the two-dimensional representation. A control unit, a motor vehicle and a computer program are also described.
