  • Patent number: 11956766
Abstract: A method comprises selecting a beam to be scheduled for a slot that is upcoming, and selecting a terminal device to be scheduled in the selected beam. Selection of the terminal device is based on the terminal device considering the selected beam as its best beam. Physical resource blocks are allocated to the terminal device, and a beam configuration to be used for the selected beam is chosen based in part on user traffic and load distribution. A switching event is triggered. The switching event comprises producing the chosen beam configuration by providing a beamforming command and using a control line controlling a switch network comprised in phase shifters to steer the beam. The phase shifters are comprised in a radio frequency front-end unit comprising a plurality of antenna columns. The phase shifters are placed in front of selected antenna sub-arrays comprised in the plurality of antenna columns.

  • Patent number: 9484874
Abstract: An amplifier system is disclosed, configured to apply a signal component separator algorithm such that the first phase modulated signal and the second phase modulated signal are allowed to take on several continuous amplitude levels in order to achieve a maximum efficiency at each desired output signal power level, without restricting the input signal power fed to the power amplifiers to a constant level, wherein for each desired output signal power level, the digital signal component separator assigns an amplitude and phases of input signals that result in a maximum instantaneous power efficiency at the amplified output signal combined with an unmatched/non-isolating combiner (e.g. Chireix combiner).

  • Publication number: 20150145602
Abstract: An apparatus includes a main amplifier core and auxiliary amplifier core(s), an input signal splitter connected to inputs of the main amplifier core and the auxiliary amplifier core(s), and an output combiner connected to outputs of the main amplifier core and an the auxiliary amplifier core(s). The input signal splitter is configured to split an input signal into a first signal for the main amplifier core and at second signal(s) for the auxiliary amplifier core(s) according to frequency dependent nonlinear input drive functions. The output combiner is configured to combine output signals of the main amplifier core and the auxiliary amplifier core(s), and to provide a continuum of optimum termination impedances of the main amplifier core for the fundamental frequency and at least one harmonic frequency over a predetermined bandwidth of operation, in a low power region. The low power region is defined by the auxiliary amplifier core(s) being inactive.

  • Publication number: 20070293161
Abstract: A transceiver duplex filter has a transmit filter that supplies a transmission signal from at least one transmitter unit to a transceiver antenna. When connected to two transmitter units, two one-way attenuators, each of which is provided with an input and an output, are allocated to respective transmitter units. The input of each one-way attenuator can be connected in a fixed but removable manner to the respective transmitter unit. A coupling device provided with first and second inputs and an output, has a first input connected to the output of the second one-way attenuator. The input of the transmit filter, the second input of the coupling device, the output of the coupling device and the output of the first one-way attenuator may be connected in a fixed but removable fashion, whereby at least one transmission signal of an associated transmitter unit can be selectively connected to the input of the transmit filter by using the fixed but detachable connections.

  • Publication number: 20020131522
Abstract: In order to linearize a digital signal, two different signals are fed into the correction loop of a feedforward amplifier. One of the signals (main signal) is subjected to predistortion and frequency response compensation before it is fed to a nonlinear amplifier. A second signal remains undistorted and serves as a reference signal which is used for the compensation of the main signal component. These two signals are fed into the correction loop in order to output a highly linearized output signal.
