    Abstract: A pressure sensitive copying element in the form of a web having on one side a color forming coating containing a mixture of alkanes of m.w. 500-3500 and dispersed therein 0.1 to 10% by weight of an incompatible material which is a cellulose derivative, hydrocarbon resin, melamine resin, phenolic resin, or styrene resin, and a solution of a color former in a solvent compatible with the material but incompatible with the alkanes. On the other side there may be a color developing coating containing aluminium oxide together with a binder.
