  • Publication number: 20140066564
Abstract: A translucent polymer composition is described that contains a thermoplastic polymer combined with an impact modifier. The thermoplastic polymer may comprise a polyester copolymer that is substantially amorphous. The impact modifier may have a core and shell construction and may be configured so as to substantially match the refractive index of the polyester polymer. The polymer composition may also contain at least one stabilizer, an anti-scratch additive, a glitter-like additive, in addition to other components. In one embodiment, the polymer composition substantially blocks ultraviolet rays. In particular, the polymer composition can be formulated so that within the ultraviolet light wavelength range, the polymer composition displays 0% transmission or less.

  • Patent number: 6316521
Abstract: A small amount of an absorber mixture comprising activated aluminum oxide and potassium permanganate deodorizes the space within closed, gastight packs, in particular the space within packs of the type in which objects or materials which comprise polyacetal or otherwise release formaldehyde are present. Deodorization here is the removal (i.e. elimination or absorption) of volatile constituents emerging from plastic moldings or from plastic materials, in particular cleavage products, such as formaldehyde. The process is particularly suitable for the packaging of moldings or of assemblies which are to be used in the medical sector, in the food and drink sector or in any other sector affecting health.

  • Patent number: 5403361
Abstract: A process for dyeing textile fiber materials with water-soluble dyestuffs, in particular anionic dyestuffs, and of these in particular those having a fiber-reactive group, in which the dyeing is carried out using low-electrolyte or entirely electrolyte-free and/or low-alkali or entirely alkali-free dye liquors or printing pastes and a fiber material which has been modified with a silane compound containing amino groups is used as the textile material. The fiber material is modified by applying the silane compound containing amino groups to the material in aqueous solution and subjecting the impregnated material to a heat treatment. Novel silane compounds which contain a secondary amino group and can likewise be employed for the purpose mentioned are furthermore described.
