Abstract: A vehicle includes a chassis, a tractive element coupled to the chassis, a hood, and a hinge assembly pivotally coupling the hood to the chassis. The hinge assembly includes a first plate fixedly coupled to the hood, the first plate defining a first hinge pin aperture, a second plate coupled to the chassis, the second plate defining a second hinge pin aperture, a hinge pin extending through the first hinge pin aperture and the second hinge pin aperture, and a spring configured to bias the hood toward a raised position.

Abstract: A vented hood assembly for a military vehicle includes a hood, a heat exchanger, and seals. The hood defines a hood volume, an inlet to the hood volume, and an outlet from the hood volume. The heat exchanger is positioned in the hood volume. The seals extend between sides of support members of the heat exchanger and the hood. The seals are configured to sealingly couple with the sides of the support members of the heat exchanger and corresponding surfaces of the hood. During transportation, air is driven to enter the hood volume through the inlet, pass through the heat exchanger, and exit the hood volume through the outlet to induce convective heat transfer from the heat exchanger into the air.
