    Abstract: A steering column assembly for a vehicle includes an elongate steering column mounted for rotation about its longitudinal axis and configured for attachment of a steering wheel at one end. A gear is connected to the steering column at a location spaced from the steering wheel attachment location and configured to rotate with the steering column. A motor has a rotatable output shaft. A first worm screw is directly connected to and rotatable with the output shaft of the motor and engaged with the gear. A damper includes a rotatable shaft. A second worm screw is directly connected to and rotatable with the shaft of the damper and engaged with the gear. A control means is configured to operate the motor.

    Abstract: A pump assembly including a pumping element mounted for rotation within a pump chamber, movement of the pumping element in the chamber causing pumping of fluid within the pump chamber, and a motor, the motor including a stator and a rotor which is connected to the pumping element such that activation of the motor causes movement of the pumping element and hence pumping of fluid within the pump chamber, there being a sealing assembly which permits fluid in the pumping chamber to flow around the rotor but which substantially prevents fluid from the pumping chamber from contacting the stator, the sealing assembly including a partition part which lies between the stator and the pumping chamber and a sealing part which lies between the stator and the rotor, wherein the sealing part is made from a polymeric material over-moulded onto the partition part.

    Abstract: A method of making a rotor for an electric motor, the rotor including a magnet assembly and a bearing, the bearing being adapted for supporting the rotor on a shaft whilst permitting rotation of the rotor about the shaft, the method including the steps of engaging the bearing with a bearing support tool, engaging a first engagement formation provided on the magnet assembly with a corresponding second engagement formation provided on the bearing such that movement of the magnet assembly with respect to the bearing is restricted, and moulding a polymeric rotor casing around the magnet assembly and bearing so that the magnet assembly and bearing are retained by the rotor casing.
