The extraction channels are simple to manufacture and reliable in use. Prior art problems with entrainment of gas, liquid and solid material within channels are addressed. The techniques provide a convenient way of controlling the amount or concentration of DNA in the eluant.

Abstract: A method for virtual image migration for configuring software of an information handling system platform which method defines a platform independent image on a medium readable by an information handling system determines a core operating system, enterprise configurations and a CAB file of drivers for each of plural platform model types with one or more installation functions operable to install the enterprise configurations in an operating system of an information handling system having one of the plural platform model types. The installation function determines the platform model type of an information handling system loaded with the platform independent image and configures the core operating system with the enterprise configurations and a driver file associated with the determined platform model type.

Abstract: Replacement of legacy information handling systems at a deployment site is automatically managed in cooperation with an information handling system manufacture site by coordinating the building of replacement information handling systems with appropriate configurations. An asset discovery tool interfaces with the legacy information handling systems through a deployment site network to discover the configurations of the legacy systems and communicates the legacy configurations to the manufacture site. An asset translation engine translates the legacy configurations to replacement configurations for building the replacement information handling systems. The ordering of replacement systems and the translation to the replacement configuration is managed by rules defined through an order tool of the deployment site and may include applications packaged at the deployment site and communicated to the manufacture site for installation on the replacement systems.

Abstract: A system and method for information handling system manufacture analyzes an image to determine a traits definition that identifies the operating system, applications and unique information of the image, such as in a XML file. The image traits definition may be communicated to a manufacture site over a network and used to re-create the image for copying to a manufactured information handling system. Communication of the image traits definition consumes less network and storage resources than communication of the image, thus reducing the time and expense of image transfers to manufacture information handling systems.

Abstract: An information handling system image builder server associated with a manufacturer supports remote access by customers through networked communications, such as the Internet, to create images for loading on information handling systems manufactured for the customers. An image creation engine of the server accesses an image library to build an image with image components selected in accordance with customer parameters. The image is built on hardware or virtual test information handling systems interfaced with the image creation engine. Customers may remotely upload custom image components to the library, such as custom applications and settings, and remotely test the operation of the image on the test information handling systems before promoting the built image to a manufacture environment for manufacture of information handling systems with the image.
