  • Patent number: 7883007
Abstract: Automated transaction machines operate responsive to data read from data bearing records to carry out financial transfers, which can include the dispense of currency notes and the conduct of transactions. In some cases a user is enabled to dispense merchandise from a self-service dispensing machine and is also enabled to selectively receive cash value by charging the amount of such value to a source of monetary value associated with data read from a machine readable article such as a card (80, 82). Alternatively, a user may receive cash value by presenting a printed voucher or other item to a service provider located at a facility (14) at which the service provider exchanges the voucher or other item for cash. Alternatively, cash may be dispensed to the user directly from the self-service dispensing machine. Alternatively the user may pick up merchandise ordered through the machine at a delivery station disposed from the machine.

  • Patent number: 7840485
Abstract: An automated banking machine system and method includes ATMs which accept checks and dispense cash to users. The ATMs are operated to acquire image and magnetic data from deposited checks to determine the genuineness of checks and the authority of a user to receive cash for such checks. Cash is then dispensed to the user from the ATM in exchange for the deposited check. The ATMs dispense cash responsive to communications with a transaction host. The transaction host provides transaction identifying data to the ATM. The ATM sends the transaction identifying data and check images to an image and transaction data server for processing.

  • Patent number: 7780074
Abstract: An automated banking machine system and method includes ATMs which can accept checks and dispense cash. Cash can be dispensed to an authorized user in exchange for one or more checks received from the user during a transaction session. Following closure of the transaction session, the ATM analyzes image and magnetic data from a received check to determine an analyzed check value. The ATM then determines whether the analyzed check value corresponds to a check value inputted by the user. With corresponding values, the user account is credited with the check value. Without corresponding values, the user account balance is adjusted accordingly and the user is notified of the discrepancy.
