Abstract: An air flap assembly for a motor vehicle has a frame and at least one vane which is pivotable about an axle between an open position and a closed position in an opening in the frame and is supported on two struts of the frame extending transversely to the axle. The axle divides the vane into a first and a second blade, which are elongated in the direction of the axle. The length of the first blade is greater than the distance between the two struts, and the first blade has at least one narrow side sealing surface, which in the closed position is located opposite a sealing surface of one of the struts forming a seal.
