Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the movement of two guide units having a first and second ejection units, including a synchronization device having a connection element which connects together and synchronizes the first and second ejection units. Each ejection unit has an adapter member that provides a receiving portion having a receiving volume in which the end portion of the connection element can be accommodated. The receiving volume is surrounded over a partial circumference by a fixed wall of the adapter member, and over a remaining circumferential portion with respect to the partial circumference a closure portion of the adapter member is provided. The closure portion is pivotably articulated to the adapter member and can be pivoted from an open position reversibly into a secured closure position of the closure portion, wherein in the closure position of the closure portion the remaining circumferential portion is closed.

Abstract: A fan including a fan blade having a pivoting end and a free end. The fan includes a spring having a first end attached to the pivoting end of the fan blade and a second end attached to a fan frame. The fan blade configured to oscillate so that free end experiences the largest displacement of the blade. The fan also includes a baffle having a window configured to frame the motion of the fan blade thereby creating a clearance between edges of the window and the swept area of the free end of fan blade. At least one compression chamber is provided on one side of the fan blade and is partially bounded by the fan blade, baffle and a boundary wall. A motor having a stator attached to the fan frame and an armature attached to the fan blade drives the motion of the fan blade.

Abstract: A process is provided, comprising: (a) supplying ammonium-containing wastewater to a reactor containing granular sludge comprising granules having a core of anammox bacteria and an outer rim of ammonia oxidizing bacteria; (b) subjecting the wastewater to ammonium oxidation at a temperature between 5 to 25° C., a dissolved oxygen concentration between 0.4 mg/L to 4.0 mg/L, and a hydraulic retention time between 0.5 hours to 1.5 days, obtaining a nitrogen gaseous stream and a dispersion of granular and non-sludge in treated wastewater; and (c) separating the dispersion into a granular sludge stream and a stream of treated wastewater and non-granular sludge, and (d) recycling the granular sludge to the reactor while discharging the non-granular sludge, wherein the granular sludge has a reactor retention time at least ten times the hydraulic retention time, and wherein the retention time of non-granular sludge is no more than three times the hydraulic retention time.
