Publication number: 20240132965Abstract: Described herein is a method for detecting cancer DNA in a test sample of DNA from a patient. In some embodiments, the method may comprise: (a) sequencing multiple aliquots of the test sample to produce, for each aliquot, sequence reads corresponding to two or more target regions that each have one or more sequence variations present within the patient's cancer; (b) for each aliquot, for each target region: i. determining the number of sequence reads that have the sequence variation; ii. determining the total number of sequence reads; and iii. comparing i. and ii. to one or more error probability distribution models for the sequence variation, wherein the one or more models are obtained from DNA that does not contain the sequence variation; and (c) integrating the collective results of step (b) to determine if there is cancer DNA in the test sample.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 2, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Malcolm PERRY, Giovanni MARSICO, Robert OSBORNE, Nitzan ROSENFELD, Tim FORSHEW

Publication number: 20120029665Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide capabilities of ascertaining, distinguishing, responding to, and interacting with usage and/or users of an area. A controller is realizable in a variety of manners, including purpose-built state machines; software realizable controllers engenderable as physically individual or virtual machines; protocols and/or procedures, habitually computer executable, that are integratable or performable by other programs. Among the primary facets of many embodiments of the present invention is the use of an operative motion detector's ongoing lack of a motion detection as actually a positive detection of a lack of motion that provides useful and actionable information. Additional manners of sensing and/or interacting with potential usage are also employed to provide further capacities for intelligent occupancy analysis and response.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 21, 2011Publication date: February 2, 2012Inventor: Tim Perry

Patent number: 7894942Abstract: A device for controlling devices in a monitored space. A sensor senses an event in an initial state indicating an occupant may be present in the monitored space. A switch activates the controlled device in response to the sensed event. A processor enables the device to change from the initial state to a first state in response to the sensed event, with the first state indicating that the occupant may be in the monitored space. The device also changes from the first state to a second state while determining whether the occupant continues to be in the monitored space in response to a query challenge. The device next changes from the second state to the initial state in response to the determining indicating that the occupant is not in the monitored space. The switch deactivates the controlled device in the initial state in the monitored space.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2010Date of Patent: February 22, 2011Assignee: DSA, Inc.Inventor: Tim Perry

Patent number: 6302572Abstract: A vent passage (28) extends from a main extruder passage (24) and is spaced from and between a feed extruder passage (26) and a back surface (16) of the barrel (10). The barrel (10) is characterized by the vent passage (28) being disposed to extend from the top surface (12) into the main extruder passage (24) and a vent passage adapter (36) in the vent passage (28) for controlling the venting of gases. The vent passage adapter (36) includes a restrictor member (44) extending downwardly from a mounting plate (38) to form a restricted passage (46) with a screw cover (40). The restrictor member (44) is removably attached to the mounting plate (38) whereby it may be removed for a less restricted venting of gases.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1999Date of Patent: October 16, 2001Assignee: Century SpecialtiesInventors: Dan Cox, Steven Misiak, Tim Perry
