  • Patent number: 10563508
Abstract: A conveyor pan is provided for supporting a portion of a mining conveyor extending along a mine face and positioned between the mine face and a goaf. The conveyor pan includes a deck, a toe, and a heel. The deck includes a first side configured to be positioned proximate the mine face and a second side configured to be positioned proximate the goaf. The toe is positioned adjacent the first side of the deck, and includes a toe contact surface defining a toe surface area. The heel is positioned adjacent the second side of the deck, and includes a lug and a heel contact surface. The lug is configured to be coupled to an advancement mechanism. The heel contact surface defines a heel surface area greater than the toe surface area.

  • Publication number: 20190100860
Abstract: A guard insert having a body and a guide. The body can include a top surface, an opposed bottom surface, and a plurality of side edges extending between the top and bottom surfaces and including a front side edge. The body can define a slot and a plurality of fastener-receiving openings. The slot can extend inwardly from the front side edge. The plurality of fastener-receiving openings can extend through the top and bottom surfaces, with each opening of the plurality of fastener-receiving openings being configured to receive a fastener. The guide can be securely received within the slot of the body. The guide can have an outer peripheral wall and an inner peripheral wall. The outer peripheral wall can have a shape complementary to the slot, and at least a portion of the inner peripheral wall can define a channel configured for receiving yarn.

  • Patent number: 9797251
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a conveyor in a mining system. The conveyor includes a sprocket, a chain, a hydraulic cylinder, one or more sensors, and a controller. In one implementation, the method includes sensing a characteristic associated with the conveyor, generating a signal based on the characteristic, determining a tension associated with the chain based on the signal, determining an amount of chain stretch based on the tension, and modifying a position of the hydraulic cylinder based on the amount of chain stretch.
