  • Publication number: 20240282374
Abstract: Methods of writing data to a DNA strand by inserting data-encoding oligos or symbols into a DNA backbone. One particular method of synthesizing a DNA strand encoding data includes cleaving a DNA backbone into multiple segments, and pasting a plurality of data-encoding oligo symbols between the multiple segments, with the terminal ends of the segments joining homologous terminal ends of the symbols, resulting in the DNA strand encoding data comprising alternating segments and symbols.

  • Publication number: 20240205018
Abstract: Mechanisms are disclosed for decoupled integration of quantum-safe digital signatures into software applications. Electronic document content is stored, by a software application, in connection with a document store. An application programming interface (API) request is issued to a quantum-safe digital signature service. The API request comprises an identifier associated with the electronic document content and a request to generate a quantum-safe signature associated with the electronic document content. The request to generate a quantum-safe signature of the electronic document content causes the quantum-safe digital signature service to perform several steps. First, the electronic document content is retrieved from the document store. Next, a quantum-safe digital signature data structure is generated. Next, the quantum-safe digital signature data structure is stored to the document store. A signing status update is transmitted to the software application.

  • Patent number: 11686705
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying DNA strand size and purifying the DNA based on strand size using electrophoresis. The methods include moving, via voltage, a plurality of DNA strands through a separation gel from an inlet of a capillary or passage to either a first outlet or a second outlet dependent on the DNA strand length. In some implementations, the system is a capillary electrophoresis system. In other implementations, the system is a microfluidic lab-on-a-chip.

  • Patent number: 11495249
Abstract: Two or more different recording currents are applied to a write coil of a recording head. A first of the two or more currents is a positive current and a second of the two or more currents is a negative current. In response to the application of the two or more different recording currents, a data stream is recorded to regions of a moving continuous magnetic recording medium such that each region has three or more magnetic states. The three or more magnetic states can be read from the continuous magnetic recording medium via a magnetic read transducer to recover the data stream.

  • Patent number: 11270733
Abstract: A disk drive apparatus determines a pattern of bits of a data signal applied to a magnetic write transducer of a heat-assisted magnetic recording apparatus. The magnetic write transducer applies a magnetic field to a recording medium in response to the data signal. A laser power signal is applied to a laser that heats the recording medium while the magnetic field is applied. The laser power signal is modulated based on the pattern of bits. The modulation reduces differences between track widths of recorded marks having different elapsed time values and/or increases a signal-to-noise ratio of the recorded marks having different elapsed time values.
