  • Patent number: 11208965
Abstract: A method for determining a desired intake manifold pressure of an internal combustion engine by means of an iterative method, wherein a cylinder charge is determined for an intake manifold pressure iterated during the iterative method, and the desired intake manifold pressure is determined as a function of the cylinder air charge that has been determined. In addition, a control device for carrying out the method is provided.

  • Patent number: 11118516
Abstract: A method for controlling and/or regulating the operation of an internal combustion engine, wherein the relevant specific relative locations of the intake camshaft with respect to the crankshaft are defined and/or controlled with the aid of regulating control values of the engine control unit, in particular for controlling the intake valves between the control value 1 for late and the control value 0 for early, and wherein a specific regulating control value curve and/or specific regulating control values for controlling the relative position of the intake camshaft is or are stored, at least for a specific control period for implementing the load jump, namely at least between the time of the start of the target load jump to the time of the end of the actual load jump corresponding to the target load jump.

  • Patent number: 11085379
Abstract: A method for controlling a multi-cylinder combustion engine, wherein the combustion engine has a first operating state in which all cylinders are active, and a second operating state in which one of the multiple cylinders is active and one of the multiple cylinders is deactivated. The method comprises switching the combustion engine from the first to the second operating state, wherein, in the cylinder to be deactivated, an exhaust valve is deactivated after a combustion stroke and an intake valve is deactivated before an intake stroke following the combustion stroke in the closed state, and changing an ignition angle of the cylinder to be deactivated to an earlier ignition time and an optional change of the air/fuel mixture leads to a reduction in a temperature of an exhaust gas arising during the combustion stroke.

  • Patent number: 10907518
Abstract: A method for regenerating a particulate filter in an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, wherein it is thereby provided that the quantity of overrun air in the overrun operation of the combustion engine be adapted to the air required for oxidizing the soot trapped in the particulate filter to achieve a rapid and efficient regeneration of the particulate filter, and it is provided that a throttle valve be opened in overrun operation to an extent that allows a maximum permissible soot conversion without risking thermal damage to the particulate filter.
