Publication number: 20260181742Abstract: An electric heating device, in particular for a motor vehicle, includes a housing that is at least partially electrically conductive with a circumferential groove provided on its front side, and a cover formed from sheet metal, which closes the housing and engages with a circumferential edge in the groove, which contains a sealing agent. To increase the sealing of the housing while reliably shielding the electrical components housed therein, the circumferential edge has a first leg engaging in the groove and a second leg bent away from it extending therefrom, which is in electrically conductive contact with one of the boundary walls of the groove. In the method for producing the electrical heating device, the circumferential edge is inserted in the groove and a sealing agent then is introduced into the groove, which hardens in the groove.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2025Publication date: June 25, 2026Inventors: Patrick Werner, Timo Kröner, Michael Niederer, Rüdiger Freitag

Publication number: 20260150156Abstract: An electric heating device has an at least partially electrically conductive housing and a cover that is formed from sheet metal and that closes the housing. A circumferential groove is provided on an end face of the housing. An adhesive is introduced into the groove, and the cover has a circumferential edge which engages in the groove in such a way that the circumferential edge of the cover is immersed circumferentially in the adhesive. The sealing and fastening of the cover relative to the housing is improved by the fact that circumferential the edge is in contact with a surface that laterally limits the groove and that is arranged at a distance from the opposite surface of the groove.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 25, 2025Publication date: May 28, 2026Inventors: Timo Kröner, Simon Stuppert, Müge Pilavtepe-Christ, Patrick Werner

Publication number: 20250056677Abstract: An electrical heating device comprises two heating chambers between which an electrical heating assembly is formed. Via a distributor a flow of a medium to be heated entering the electrical heating device in the inflow direction is divided into a first partial flow and a second partial flow. The first partial flow flows through the first heating chamber, while the second partial flow flows through the second heating chamber. For this purpose, the distributor has a distributing body, which may be configured as a conical bod that is rotationally symmetrical about an axis of symmetry. The axis of symmetry may be parallel to an inlet axis. Alternatively, the distributing body can also be configured as an overflow edge.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 9, 2024Publication date: February 13, 2025Inventors: Kai-Fabian Bürkle, Markus Hoffmann, Jikang Wang, Gaetan Ahoufack, Timo Kröner, Ralf Lothar Weinand, Sascha Herzig, Ahmad Asafi, Andreas Bachmann, Fabian Beck, Carina Bauer

Publication number: 20250056681Abstract: An electrical heating device for heating a liquid medium includes a first heating chamber, a second heating chamber, and an electrical heating assembly which is provided between the first heating chamber and the second heating chamber and which is coupled to the first heating chamber and the second heating chamber in a heat-conducting manner. In order to provide an electrical heating device which can be easily adapted to different heating powers and/or operating voltages, the first heating chamber has a first channel section, and the second heating chamber has a second channel section. The first channel section and/or the second channel section form a flow connection between the two heating chambers which passes through the plane containing the electrical heating assembly and the length of which can be varied in a direction transverse to the plane containing the electrical heating assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2024Publication date: February 13, 2025Inventors: Kai-Fabian Bürkle, Markus Hoffmann, Jikang Wang, Gaetan Ahoufack, Timo KrÖner, Ralf Lothar Weinand, Sascha Herzig, Ahmad Asafi, Andreas Bachmann, Fabian Beck, Carina Bauer

Publication number: 20240276604Abstract: An electric heating device includes a casing with a partition wall which separates a connection chamber from a heating chamber for dissipating heat to a medium to be heated. At least one heating rib projects from the partition wall in the direction toward the heating chamber and supports, in an insulated manner, at least one PTC element and conductor tracks for energizing the PTC element with different polarities. A control device with a populated control circuit board is provided in the casing. At least one connector casing is provided in the casing and has electrically conductive plugging elements that are electrically connected to the control circuit board. An electric heating device, which is used exclusively for the electrical connection of the plugging elements, is electrically connected to the control circuit board by way of at least one electrical connector.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 8, 2024Publication date: August 15, 2024Inventors: Patrick Werner, Timo Kröner

Publication number: 20240237152Abstract: A PTC heating device has a frame surrounding an accommodation space, at least one PTC element accommodated in the accommodation space, and conductor elements, which are connected to the PTC element in an electrically conductive manner and enclose the PTC element between them. Each of the conductor elements is surrounded by a frame segment. The frame segments are welded together to enclose the PTC element in the accommodation space. In the method according to the invention, injection molded plastic frame segments having interacting connection segments are connected to conductor elements. At least one PTC element is then introduced between the frame segments. The frame segments are approached to each other until the connection segments abut against each other. The connection segments are then melted. As a result of this melting, the frame segments are approached further to each other until the conductor elements abut against the PTC element.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2023Publication date: July 11, 2024Inventors: Timo Kröner, Patrick Werner, Daniele Dattilo
