  • Patent number: 9399334
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the riveted fastening of an accessory to a plastics fuel tank (11, 12), the riveted fastening taking place at the time of the production of the tank by extrusion blow-molding of a split tubular preform or two web-like extruded preforms made of thermoplastic material by using a multi-part die after or during the molding of two complementary shells. The accessory (4) has been provided or is provided with at least one opening. The method according to the invention is characterized in that the riveted fastening takes place by means of at least one prefabricated rivet pin (9) made of thermoplastic material. The rivet pin has been obtained in a separate production process, for example by injection-molding.

  • Patent number: 8763646
Abstract: Functional components which are stationarily mounted in a fuel tank and connected together by way of a connecting line can be damaged by a change in size and shape of the fuel tank. The invention concerns a fuel tank, in particular of thermoplastic material, comprising at least two functional components such as for example venting valves, pumps, containers or the like, which are stationarily arranged in a fuel tank and which are connected together by way of a connecting line. To avoid damage, in accordance with the invention one connecting line includes at least a first portion and a second portion, wherein the stiffness of the first portion is less than the stiffness of the second portion.

  • Publication number: 20090308865
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel container of plastics material with functional components arranged inside the container which are fastened to the container wall and at least some of which are connected to electric or hydraulic lines and/or are interconnected via such lines. The invention further relates to a method for maintenance of such a fuel container. The functional components are provided with fastening means for receiving a functionally identical functional component. In the event of maintenance, the fuel container is opened. An exchange component is fastened to the functional component to be serviced, the functional component to be serviced serving as a mounting for the exchange component. The lines connected to the functional component are plugged into the other functional component and the container is closed again while the component to be serviced remains in the fuel container.

  • Publication number: 20090065513
Abstract: Functional components which are stationarily mounted in a fuel tank (1) and connected together by way of a connecting line (6) can be damaged by a change in size and shape of the fuel tank (1). The invention concerns a fuel tank (1), in particular of thermoplastic material, comprising at least two functional components such as for example venting valves (5), pumps, containers or the like, which are stationarily arranged in a fuel tank (1) and which are connected together by way of a connecting line (6). To avoid damage, in accordance with the invention one connecting line (6) includes at least a first portion (9) and a second portion (10), wherein the stiffness of the first portion (9) is less than the stiffness of the second portion (10).
