  • Patent number: 7809578
Abstract: A mobile device or MS having voice user interface (UI) as part of its multimodal input/output capabilities is provided with a storage area for storing a profile indicating the voice UI capabilities. The profile indicates the automatic speech recognition, text-to-speech, vocabulary and grammar capabilities, amongst others. An application, such as a diary program or one allowing entry into a lotto, is initialized on the MS with reference to the profile. When the application is run, the profile is referred to such that parts of the application which are appropriate to the profile are run whilst those which are inappropriate to the profile are not run. Alternatively, the application may be run on a voice UI application server forming part of a base station. An emulator for testing an application using a profile of a target device is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7684553
Abstract: The present invention proposes a method for transmitting data in a communication network, said communication network comprising at least one call control entity (CSCF) for controlling calls to be established from a subscriber (A, B) to a communication destination (B, A), a service control entity (SCP) for controlling services provisioned in said network for a respective subscriber, and a detection entity (DP) adapted to detect at least one of a plurality of predetermined conditions occurring in said network; said method comprising the steps of: forwarding a signaling message from said subscriber (A) to said at least one call control entity (CSCF) for being further forwarded to said destination (B), said signaling message comprising a message header and a message body, said message header including information descriptive for a content carried in the message body, detecting the occurrence of said at least one predetermined condition, and in case the occurrence of said predetermined condition has been detected,

  • Publication number: 20090002368
Abstract: A device for generating a 3D image based on 2D graphical content of an image and depth information (i.e., Z-map) to be displayed on a display includes an application processor, a graphical processing unit (GPU), a 3D rendering unit and a display. The application processor is capable of sending 2D graphical content to the GPU, which is stored in memory. The GPU also includes a depth table having predefined depth information corresponding to the 2D graphical content. The GPU includes a depth module which monitors or identifies the 2D graphical content and requests a graphics library to paint a corresponding area in the Z-map that has the same size and position in the Z-map as that of the 2D graphical content. The GPU sends the 2D graphical content and the painted Z-map to a 3D rendering unit which creates a 3D image to be shown on a display.

  • Patent number: 7278966
Abstract: A system for managing physiological information includes a mobile terminal and at least one destination. The terminal is capable of transferring physiological information relating to a terminal user. The destination(s), in turn, are capable of receiving the physiological information and performing at least one operation based upon the physiological information. The destinations can return content to the terminal, where the content is selected based upon the operation(s) performed by the destination(s). Upon receiving the content, then, the terminal is also capable of performing at least one operation based upon the content. The system can also include a mobile station for facilitating the transfer of physiological information and content between the terminal and the destination(s).

  • Patent number: 7281137
Abstract: The present invention relates to an authentication method and system for identifying a subscriber (1) of a first network an address of the second network (9) is allocated to the subscriber (1). An information about a mapping between the address of the second network (9) and a subscriber identity is generated and transmitted to the second network (9). Thereby, an authentication server connection is provided between the first network (2) and the second network (9), such that the subscriber identity can be handled over to the second network (9). Thus, a VAS platform of the second network (9) can receive the address of the second network and the subscriber identity of the subscriber (1), such that subscriber accessing services of the VAS platform can be identified for charging and/or addressing purposes.

  • Patent number: 7216034
Abstract: A system and method for providing an interactive, multi-modal interface used to generate a route drawing. A mobile terminal display initially displays map data indicative of a user's region of interest. Through a series of audible, visual, and tactile excitations, the user interacts with the route drawing system to generate a desired route to be superimposed upon the user's region of interest. User preferences are used by the system to intelligently aid the user in selection of each segment of the route to be drawn. An analysis of each segment, as well as an analysis of the final route, is performed so that the attributes of the route, along with the graphical representation of the route itself, may be stored either locally within the mobile terminal or remotely within a map server.

  • Patent number: 7203297
Abstract: The present invention relates to a telecommunications system comprising a network element (5?) providing answering service for subscribers, and at least one subscriber terminal (1?) comprising a memory (M1?) for storing parameters associated with selectable profiles, said parameters controlling the functions of the subscriber terminal, and a user interface (2) providing the possibility to select for use one of said selectable profiles with the associated parameters. In order to achieve an improved user-friendliness said parameters stored in the memory (M1?) of the subscriber terminal (1?) include message parameters (MSG1, MSG2, MSG3) which identify messages (A, B, C) that are associated with the respective profiles. A profile selection carried out with the user interface (2) triggers the transmitter (4) to transmit an activation message (ACT) to the network element (5?).

  • Publication number: 20030190887
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for transmitting multimedia files to wireless terminal devices, where a multimedia message service center receives one or more multimedia files via a wireless link and initiates a corresponding transmittal of the multimedia files to a selected wireless terminal device. When transmission failure occurs, each multimedia file is stored in a multimedia gateway memory, and the selected wireless terminal device is notified as to a memory identifier for the stored multimedia file. The selected wireless terminal can retrieve the stored multimedia file by providing the memory identifier to the multimedia gateway via the Internet, or to a wireless application protocol server via a multimedia terminal device.

  • Publication number: 20030065802
Abstract: A system and method for dynamically creating a sample of multimedia content for preview by a user of a mobile terminal involves providing a first set of parameters associated with a size of a preview sample of the multimedia content, and providing a second set of parameters associated with composition of the preview sample. A preview sample is dynamically extracted from the multimedia content using the respective first and second parameter sets. A mobile terminal specific preview sample of the multimedia content is generated using the extracted preview sample for transmission to a specific mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 6351522
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for providing delivery confirmation of message deliveries made in a telephone network. In a network of the present invention, subscriber-specific information is maintained to determine whether a subscriber has a message delivery service available that allows delivery of subscriber-specific messages. Upon delivery of confirmation of the availability of a subscriber message delivery service, a confirmation addressed to a subscriber is routed to the message delivery service on the basis of the subscriber-specific information. This and other aspects of the method of the present invention reduce extra network traffic that cannot be charged, and reduces the complications associated with other telephone network systems that require information to be provided by pushbutton dial to the system.
