The method comprises monitoring, by an authentication provider module configured to authenticate an identity of an individual independently of a trusted computing system, an authentication request queue, stored on a server of the trusted computing system and comprising at least one authentication request, determining, by the authentication provider module, a selected authentication request in the authentication request queue that the authentication provider module is capable of fulfilling, responsive to said determining, receiving, by the authentication provider module, data associated with the selected authentication request, and responsive to said receiving, fulfilling, by the authentication provider module, the selected authentication request.

The first computing device transmits an authentication request (a customer identifier) to a server of the trusted computing system. An authentication provider module that authenticates the identity of the individual independently of the trusted computing system determines that the authentication request has been transmitted to the server. The authentication provider module transmits a notification to a mobile device of the individual using the customer identifier which requests a confirmation that they are attempting to authenticate their identity.
