Patent number: 11971056Abstract: A head unit device for controlling motion of an object includes a chamber filled with a shear thickening fluid (STF) and a piston. The piston is housed within the chamber and exerts pressure against the STF from a force applied to the piston from the object. The STF is configured to have a decreasing viscosity in response to a first range of shear rates and an increasing viscosity in response to a second range of shear rates. The piston includes at least one piston bypass between opposite sides of the piston that controls flow of the STF between the opposite sides of the piston to selectively react with a shear threshold effect of the first range of shear rates or the second range of shear rates.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2021Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Moshun, LLCInventors: Timothy John Boundy, Steven Michael Barger, Terence Michael Lydon, Richard Michael Lang, Wilfredo Gonzalez, Jr., Darren Michael Boundy, Eric McHugh, David Schuda, George L Wilson, IV, Gary W. Publication number: 20200202171Abstract: In some aspects, systems and methods for rapidly building, managing, and sharing machine learning models are provided. Managing the lifecycle of machine learning models can include: receiving a set of unannotated data; requesting annotations of samples of the unannotated data to produce an annotated set of data; building a machine learning model based on the annotated set of data; deploying the machine learning model to a client system, wherein production annotations are generated; collecting the generated production annotations and generating a new machine learning model incorporating the production annotations; and selecting one of the machine learning model built based on the annotated set of data or the new machine learning model.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 14, 2018Publication date: June 25, 2020Inventors: Cory HUGHES, Timothy ESTES, John LIU, Brandon CARL, Uday KAMATH

Publication number: 20080016020Abstract: A system and method for processing information in unstructured or structured form, comprising a computer running in a distributed network with one or more data agents. Associations of natural language artifacts may be learned from natural language artifacts in unstructured data sources, and semantic and syntactic relationships may be learned in structured data sources, using grouping based on a criteria of shared features that are dynamically determined without the use of a priori classifications, by employing conditional probability constraints.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 23, 2007Publication date: January 17, 2008Inventor: Timothy Estes

Patent number: 7287903Abstract: An apparatus for rapid thermal testing of samples consisting of a single sample chamber in which the samples are preferably arranged circularly around the opening through which a fluid of varying temperature, preferably air, is introduced to provide for rapid, uniform cooling and heating of the samples. The samples are preferably uniformly spaced to allow for uniform air flow. The samples are mounted in slots which are preferably oriented radially outward from the opening. The sample mounts comprise electrical connectors which form a network connected to at least one ohmmeter for measuring the resistance of the samples. The samples preferably comprise test coupons, each with multiple daisy-chained nets of vias or other components to be tested. Also a method for thermal testing of samples consisting of steps to characterize the samples before the test is run.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2004Date of Patent: October 30, 2007Assignee: Conductor Analysis Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Timothy A. Estes, Robert Neves

Publication number: 20060117695Abstract: Disclosed is a batten riser assembly that is used to install battens for tile roofs. The batten riser assembly can be used to prolong the life of tile roofs since it is made of waterproof materials. The batten riser assembly uses flexible strips that can be easily folded in a compact package and can be installed in a quick and easy manner. The batten riser assembly can be used in conjunction with a marker tape to speed installation. The batten riser assembly is designed to prevent the damming of water that penetrates the tile roof. The batten riser assembly provides a simple and easy way for installers to comply with building codes.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2005Publication date: June 8, 2006Inventors: Timothy Estes, Lars Walberg

Publication number: 20060112029Abstract: A software agent system is provided that continues to learn as it utilizes natural language processors to tackle limited semantic awareness, and creates superior communication between disparate computer systems. The software provides intelligent middleware and advanced learning agents which extend the parameters for machine agent capabilities beyond simple, fixed tasks thus producing cost savings in future hardware and software platforms.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2003Publication date: May 25, 2006Inventor: Timothy Estes

Publication number: 20020059525Abstract: In sending email documents, a method for authenticating the email and attachment(s), is presented. The sender sends an original email, and attachment(s), to: the recipient(s), and an email copy, cc: to an authentication service. The authentication service encrypts the email and attachment(s); and returns the encrypted file to both the sender and the recipient(s). Either the sender or the recipients can return the encrypted file to the authentication service for unencryption and reproduction of the exact original email and attachment(s). Whoever returns the encrypted file for authentication will be notified that the file was either altered or the unencrypted contents (exact reproduction of original email and attachments) will be returned, via email. The sender and recipients require no additional software other than their existing email communication software running on a host electronics platform. The authentication service retains no data from the aforementioned process.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 9, 2001Publication date: May 16, 2002Inventors: Timothy A. Estes, Richard W. Esterly, Joel Todd Hendrickson

Patent number: 5659483Abstract: A centralized computer system in communication with a measurement system including a multi-point probe is programmed to analyze a plurality of conductor formations on a particular substrate, store information relating to an electrical characteristic of each conductor formation analyzed, and generate a report including information as to the variance in the electrical characteristic as a function of substrate position. To step through all of the conductor formations on a particular substrate, the computer may either be programmed to move a chuck holding the substrate under test relative to the points of the probe, or the system may include switching means disposed in an electrical path between the points of the probe and the resistance measurement system, enabling the computer to step through all of the conductor formations on a particular substrate by instructing the switching means to select points associated with only a single conductor formation for connection to the resistance measurement system.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 1996Date of Patent: August 19, 1997Assignee: National Center for Manufacturing SciencesInventors: Ronald J.
