  • Publication number: 20050060580
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for controlling computer access. Briefly described in architecture, some embodiments of such a system provide an access control unit to regulate user-access to a computer according to time restrictions specified in a user profile of a current user of the computer. The user profile for the current user of the computer indicates access times that the respective user is authorized to access the computer. Other systems and methods are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20050060565
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for controlling access to to computer applications. Briefly described in architecture, some embodiments of a system provide at least one computer application stored on a computer, and a control unit to regulate user-access to computer applications stored on the computer. In this way, the control unit prohibits the displaying of information from a computer application that has been prohibited. Other systems and methods are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20050060412
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for automatically controlling updating of computer access settings. Briefly described in architecture, some embodiments of such a system provide computer access settings for a user. One version of a user's computer access settings is stored in a remote database, and another version is stored in the user's computer. Further, a control unit is provided to to communicate with a server and to automatically update the versions of the computer access settings in the computer and the server to coincide with each other responsive to at least one computer event. Other systems and methods are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20050060581
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for controlling computer access. Briefly described in architecture, some embodiments of such a system provide a control unit for controlling user access to a computer in accordance with a user profile. An administrator of the computer is enabled to remotely access and modify the user profile. The user profile is stored at least in a remote database that is accessible via a server. Other systems and methods are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20050060566
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for controlling computer access. Briefly described in architecture, some embodiments of a system provide a control unit to control access to a computer according to settings specified by an administrator of the computer. Further, the system provides a reporting unit that collects information on which computer applications user has attempted to access on the computer. The information is compiled into a report regarding the respective user. Other systems and methods are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20050039997
Abstract: An electrical cord reel includes a metal housing of rectangular shape which is adapted to be mounted set in a wall or on the surface of the wall. The electric cord is mounted on a retractable reel mounted within the housing and may be connected to a source of electricity. An outlet receptacle is mounted to the cord for supplying power to remote locations in the room or work area as the cord is unwound from the reel. A series of guide rollers permit the cord to be paid out in a direction generally perpendicular to the wall, but over a large space for flexible application. The receptacle may be reeled in for storage and used as a wall outlet in the storage position. The receptacle is secured in a recess in the front wall of the housing; and the receptacle may be moved from the storage position to a release position where it is readily removed from the housing for remote use.

  • Patent number: 6359681
Abstract: In a FLIR/laser based targeting and imaging system, the ability to recognize, detect, locate, and/or track targets in an area of interest is significantly improved by reducing the fixed and dynamic alignment errors between the IR LOS and the laser LOS. Fixed alignment errors are reduced with an improved internal boresight module and corresponding boresight method. Dynamic alignment errors are reduced with an opto-electric subsystem that employs a single pitch bearing and a common pitch/yaw afocal for both the laser energy and the IR energy. A segmented window in the system housing includes a circular EMI grid pattern which significantly reduces the amount of off-axis EMI entering the optical pathways, and improved signal processing techniques are employed to enhance the quality of the IR image after the image has been digitized.
