  • Patent number: 9211718
Abstract: In one example, a shroud to protect a printhead in a print bar includes: an elongated body having an opening therein through which a printhead may dispense liquid past the shroud when the shroud is affixed to the print bar; and a bump on an exterior surface of the body next to the opening. The bump is configured to guide a leading edge of print media away from the printhead during printing when the shroud is affixed to the print bar and the print bar is installed in a printer.

  • Patent number: 7437853
Abstract: The present invention relates to an openable screen element such as an insert unit to be inserted into an opening of a wall, particularly a door or a window, comprising at least one screen element side-hinged to the frame structure, said screen element being pivotally mounted over a hinge axis in the frame structure for opening and closing in a direction away from the opening, where the screen element comprises two mutually angled planar sectional elements preferably rectangular in shape, positioned in different planes with an intersection line essentially parallel with the hinge axis. Apart from being communication surfaces containing information of the activities in a room with one or more doors according to the invention mounted into the walls, the screen element, such as a door surface of a screen element according to the invention, will also be able to function as a direction pointer or provide visual indication of the direction for opening of the screen element (door or window) due to its bent shape.

  • Publication number: 20070136129
Abstract: A method includes identifying a usage fee and a monitoring fee for a user of a multifunction system over a time period. The monitoring fee entitles the user to receive monitoring of one or more usage data points on the multifunction system over the time period. Each usage data points corresponds to a level of use of a function of the multifunction system. If the monitored usage data point satisfies an incentive criterion, the user may be provided with a financial incentive, such as a rebate, discount or credit of a portion of the usage fee.

  • Publication number: 20070092323
Abstract: A print job is received in a complex printing environment. The print job is decomposed optimal batch sizes by into method and system processing a print job by identifying a total processing time T(b) for each of multiple batch sizes, and the total processing time for each of the batch sizes are compared to determine which of the batch sizes is optimal for the printing environment.

  • Publication number: 20060234030
Abstract: The present invention provides processes for damp proofing and waterproofing structures by the adhesion of a thin thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) membrane to a belowgrade surface structure. The inventive processes may find application in the damp proofing and waterproofing of belowgrade structures such as building foundations and basements, reservoirs, ornamental pools, ponds, plaza decks, parking decks, walkways, tunnels, earthen shelters, bridge abutments, retaining walls, landfills and water/chemical canals, and may greatly reduce or even prevent the ingress of water and the concomitant entry of waterborne molds, fungi, salts and other pollutants such as pesticides and radon into those structures.

  • Publication number: 20050286776
Abstract: A method of compressing a document includes: acquiring an image of the document, the image represented by pixels; segmenting the image into Mixed Raster Content (MRC) planes including a foreground plane (12) that receives a first portion of the pixels, a background plane (14) that receives a second portion of the pixels, and a selector plane (16) that identifies which of the foreground and background planes the pixels belong to; identifying a geometric shape in at least one of the MRC planes; determining if the identified geometric shape has a substantially uniform color; and, replacing the identified shape when it is determined to have a substantially uniform color with a vector graphic representation of the geometric shape.

  • Publication number: 20050275897
Abstract: The present invention is a method for image segmentation to produce a mixed raster content (MRC) image with constant foreground layers. The invention extracts uniform text and other uniform color objects that carry detail information. The method includes four primary steps. First, the objects are extracted from the image. Next, the objects are tested for color consistency and other features to decide if they should be chosen for coding to the MRC foreground layers. The objects that are chosen are then clustered in color space. The image is finally segmented such that each foreground layer codes the objects from the same color cluster.
