    Abstract: A mounting assembly adapted for attachment to a surface of a rotatable driving member of a cutting tool machine and adapted for receiving a cutting tool includes: a base having a bottom portion for attachment to the surface of the rotatable driving member and a front portion that defines a bore; and a tool holder configured for mounting to the base. The tool holder includes: a leading head region having a forward face that defines an aperture for receiving the cutting tool; a trailing shank region with a central longitudinal axis and having an axial forward end and an axial rearward end; and a mediate region intermediate of and contiguous with the leading head region and the trailing shank region. The trailing shank region includes an anti-rotation portion and a mounting retention portion.
