  • Patent number: 11284847
Abstract: A system for imaging includes an X-ray source for transmitting X-rays through a subject and a measurement sensor to acquire measurement data related to the subject. A detector is provided in the system to receive the X-ray energy of the X-rays after having passed through the subject. The system further includes a controller that receives the measurement data from the measurement sensor and processes the measurement data using an image processing algorithm to determine varying thickness of the subject at a plurality of locations within an area of interest. The controller further positions a filter between the X-ray source and the subject based on varying thickness of the subject and generates the image of the subject based on the detected X-ray energy at the X-ray detector.

  • Patent number: 5610509
Abstract: A transmit power supply optimization method optimizes power supply voltage to high voltage transmitters of an ultrasound imaging apparatus for each operating mode of the apparatus. The method comprises the steps of linking the operating mode of the apparatus, the output of the high voltage transmitters, and the power supply. It is then determined when a change in optimum power supply voltage will be desired. Operation of the high voltage transmitter power supply and the high voltage transmitters is coordinated to react to the determination that a change in optimum power supply voltage will be desired, before the change in optimum power supply voltage is actually desired. Finally, a distributed power supply filter is provided to allow the high voltage transmitters to operate while the change in optimum power supply voltage is occurring.
